I picked up a dual pull / pull from River Games on the boards, I had my BIL modify the long post a bit and I really dig it.
Don called this morning and said the boat was ready. It's been a long 6 months, but it looks amazing! Now the really fun begins.

Pat,
Your Spectra 20 looks great!
I like the color and you kept the original design.
Good Luck!
Brent
Thanks, I tried to save the wood grain but it was going to be too much work. We tried to keep it simple with not too many colors....still keep a classic look.
I just bought the same exact boat with the factory hardtop engine cover. Found it up in Ft. Mohave. Was owned by an older retired couple that no longer used her. Mine has a teak swimstep instead of a Fibreglass one. Nice boat.It is the factory hardtop. It's a 1980 with a merc 260 I/O. After doing some research on the motor & drive I believe it was changed out with a R/MC Alpha. I'm guessing around '83 or '84. Here are a few more pics.

Hey Spectra Pat by chance do you still have the old exhaust manifolds that came off your mercruiser 260. I’m looking to install wet exhaust on my boat and I really like how yours dumped out above the swim step. I just picked up a Spectra 20 just like yours with hard cover and teak strips. Mine also came with a teak swim step. Photos below. Joe

Thanks. Actually it’s the perfect height and I can rest my arm on the gunwale. If I don’t like it, I’ll machine a new smaller handle. Not sure how I’m going to do the side panels yet, still thinking about that. The dash looks great! Classic look and that steering wheel is perfect. Nicely done.
Not sure if your OK with the shifter being that high above the gunwale, I have seen guys mount them lower by hanging an aluminum plate from the original hole and moving the shifter assembly down 4-6". Are you going to run upholstered side boards? If yes all of this could be hidden behind the board.
Thanks for taking along on the journey. These resto threads are the reason I'm here.
Installed the trim pump, water separator, and oil cooler. Relocated the pump relays to keep the engine bay from getting cluttered. The plan is to mount most of the auxiliary items and wiring behind removable side panels.
