What does the RDP Braintrust think of these new boat pullers?!?

Less polarizing then the new truck reveal a while back.

I've been obsessing on this reveal, and it is a little underwhelming.

Specs, and ratings will be interesting, as well as how they package the motor line up with the 10spd Ford/Chevy transmission. Really looking forward to also how the IRS is received by by the public. The expedition and others have run them, but this is a first for the GM SUV.

Anybody running out to get one next year?

The new 1/2 ton front end has really grown on me. Still not crazy about the door mounted mirrors, but not horrendous.

I'm really interested to check out the new independent rear suspension though. Could be a REALLY cool factory set-up for other applications as well.

I like it. Tahoes just work for my family so I think in 5 years when I can afford it I will get it.

Any one know what engine and rear end is available with the tow package. I think it looks better than last years model.

No details yet, but I’d assume 6.2L and 3.42, same as current.

I’m really interested in the diesel...just want to see how the engine holds-up for a few years before I’m convinced that it’s ready for prime time.

Wish they would put a Duramax in one. Inline 6 is good for towing but it's a small one.

Ugly front end. Powertrain options seems good though.

Let the crying about the MSRP begin!

I like it. Could be a viable option after I run the wheels off my Escalade, in a few years.

I watched some more video's last night of the reveal. Reporters there for TFL, Motor1 etc. are saying that three motors will be the 5.3L, 6.2L (High Country Only), and the 3.0L Turbo diesel, all three getting the new 10spd. The 10 speed seems to be doing well in the ecoboost expedition.
Air Suspension is available, magnetic ride control is available.
So much tech going into this next gen. Interior look way more trick then every before too.
It will be almost 6 more months before any real numbers come out.

Buying one, was waiting for the body change.
The
Diesel sounds like the one used in the Colorado. If it is then not too good for tow capacity.

The new Suburban will offer a 3.0L inline-6 diesel thats new, and shared with the Silverado.

It has 460 lb-ft torque in the Silverado, where it’s rated to tow 9300 lbs.

The 2.8L Duramax in the Colorado is an inline-4 and has considerably less performance (369 lb-ft) and capability (7700 lbs towing, in a much smaller/lighter vehicle).
