We should be out for a couple days during that time, so could make it work.

Anyone want to schedule some rides between xmas and New Years?

I'd like to do Havasu to Goldfish Pond? 55mi each way...Stop for gas/lunch
Havasu to Avi? Laughlin? Hualapai?

@Bpracing1127 @LargeOrangeFont @Mikes56 @DLC
We‘re interested, gotta wait until it gets closer to let you know for sure. We’re going to Havasu for the Balloon Festival in mid January. Not sure if we can go to Havasu for two trips, two weeks apart.

7 miles of pavement. It pretty far out there. Might be able to go wikieup way and save on time and still get gas at wikieup if needed. But I will warn you. You will be going through std wash and well you know it’s rough

I will look at the mileage going std wash out towards lake Alamo road and see if it’s so able in a day

I've done it in a day, we also went to Lake Alamo and had a beer at the Wayside. It was a long day. If memory serves it was like 220 miles round trip.

Goldfish is 55mi each way. A lot of fast sections.

12/30 - 8am - Goldfish Pond?

FYI there is a new Pride truck stop in Yucca off Alamo Rd and the 40 if you need gas. It is 8-9 miles from where you exit the mountains on the way to or from the pond into the valley.

The pink route is the route we took on the Primm ride, to go back towards Wikiup. We could have gone straight and got gas at the 40.

The people that have not been to Havasu in 10 years will tell you the baffoon fest is every weekend.

Just as a comment. Wife and I started going to Havasu in 89-90 ish or so. I tell folks we would sit in the channel and see a "few" other boats. I had #3 or #4 out of the mold, new style 21 Daytona and folks were still a bit mesmerized by "pickle-forks". A 21 Daytona was plenty big as the lake wasn't busy, at all.

We always stayed at the Pioneer. It was OK, a bit loud at times but the boat was out in the lot all night, never a problem.

Oh my how things have changed.

Sorry to hi-jack.

Would be cool to take that route there and Standard Wash back.
I like that idea!

Here is the route I have through standard...Mostly flat and straight after standard wash.

I was considering putting together and rdp / boom bandits - New Years camping trip towards the end of Shea rd at the Swansea turn off.

Bill Williams river is near there, planet ranch mining town, and Swansea are all close for day trips..

If you guys would rather roll around Havasu I’m down for whatever!

Jason bought a giant bbq trailer and we were talking about bbq’ing for everyone to make it fun.

@riverroyal slot canyon is 60 miles (shortest but very rough) just to get there. The canyon is 6 miles long.

the other way which is longer but not as rough is 70 miles just to get there.

both not really doable in a day and on fuel without going the distance to wayside for fuel which adds another 20 miles each way or 40 to the trip total. 180-200 miles.

topoc 66 breakfast, follow train tracks to yucca cross over 40 to gold fishpond, then follow South side of the 40 to bunker bar & sunset ridge

stay out of that “ crazy train track “ standard wash

Would that be a dry camping trip or are there hookups there? Sorry, I’m not familiar with the area.

Looking at these rentals, they are pick up at 8:30 and back by 4:30 for a full day. Also says Max mileage is 100 miles for full day and $2.25 for each additional mile.

So based on the above, would this work for the goldfish ride or do I just need to buy one and sell it when done using it?

Might be a little tight on time. If there are no problems, it will be fine or close.

Going to call today and see what the options are. I am 90% in, just me and my older boys.
Dude spend some of that commission and buy one...You'll love it once you try it. P,us your kids will dig riding around town in it.
