I was looking at the small line of boats on Industrial waiting to get into Windsor.
Nice boats.
Twin screw cats, nice eliminators, etc.
Then that wall of art rolls by and it’s like “God damn”...
Whole different league.

What a stunning boat. Lottery dream build stuff for sure. And couldn’t belong to a nicer guy. Steve is a super cool guy to meet, and so is his son. Walked me and my old man around his badass Chevelle and took the time to answer all of our questions like we were old friends. Hope to see this boat (not bote) in person some day. Way out of my wheelhouse for sure.

You can take all the pics in the world and they just don’t represent.
I stared at the purple inlays for like 15 minutes just mesmerized.
You can look at any part of this boat and the more you look the more it sinks in.
The simplistic perfection. Uncluttered is an understatement for the dash and interior.
3 big gauges per side. 4 sticks, that’s it. The display screens are subtle.
For those accustomed to this level of boat I’m sure it’s just another nice example, but when I study it I’m just floored.

Can’t wait to see this rig in person. Next level shit that most of us only can dream about.

Steve is as cool as they come. His low gear is 110% overdrive.
That Chevelle is a dream car in itself, but have you seen the 68’ stingray?
I call it his “hot wheels glitter car”.
At first you look at it and start thinking “did he pin a 68’ to a C7 chassis with a big LS motor?”....
Then you realize no, he built a 68 into a C7 with a big LS motor..

Haven’t seen it in person, only the Chevelle. But everything the dude owns is SANO. Super badass dude with super badass toys.

I took this a DS...The pic makes it appear small(ish). Being from a car kind of world, the finish is unreal. As WTG said, looking at the purple, you realize how much effort went in to something that massive.

That boat is off the charts gorgeous.

I’m not kidding when I say I watch the YouTube videos of it getting painted and after paint almost weekly. As stated before, all of the subtleties hidden in plain sight are just incredible.

What blows my mind is the size of the canvas to prep, mask, paint, clear, rub and buff. It’s a ton of work!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!

Dropped it yesterday, quick trip over and back. 8.5 hours round trip, including lunch at Chili’s.

AJ and I are shooting for me to pick it up the 30th. I am planning on Monster Storm!!

On another note, if you see the boat behind a black F450, it’s still me.
Replacing the Sport Chassis. sucks, but a family decision based on how difficult (and dangerous) it is to get Brian’s ass up in that beast.
Got the Nee truck Friday, May or may not drive it over for MS.

not sure about air bags. Hooked the boat to it, only sags 2” but didn’t drive it around. My drawbar was only rated at 13k, need 20k.

You should have your Viper painted to match the boat. ;)
BTW, what is the max tow capacity of the F450? buddy is thinking to get a Sport Chassie or F450 to tow our race car trailer

This is the important number. All three have tow ratings exceeding 30k. Problem is, the fine print telling you above a certain number, it needs to be a gooseneck or 5th wheel.

I’m ~20,000 so I’m solid with the F450.
The Sport Chassis is a safer tow rig for big stuff. Just the sheer weight of the vehicle makes it a more stable platform in bad conditions or emergency maneuvers.

My friend owns Radical West, pulling a stacker with Sport Chassis, and pulling a gooseneck trailer with F-450.
I love the Sport Chassis best

Having owned a "Roll-a-long" F550, with air-ride and such, and driven a few sport chassis, I always thought the 550 was less brutal to drive without the trailer. The sport chassis' usually have air seats for the front, and a bench in the back. People in the back take a beating as well.

mine is for sale.
Is there a certain year better than others? There's a nice silver one for sale as low as 70K cdn locally.
These guys are members at our track and have some nice cars on display and consignments as well.

How did your bike ride go? I hope well.

So, long story here, but I’m not doing shit, so...

Here’s a shit from the start at Roosville MT border post.
8A4E8BC7-C7F8-4B5A-A1B8-BBC9DB653974.jpeg

First day we did 96 miles, ride through whitefish, hit the bike shop for a minor problem and continued on to Columbia falls. Day 2 had hard rain all day, got to a point where we had to go left or right, right meant a long cold night, left was Swan River, where there was food and a cabin. So we only got 63 in.

Next few days we were averaging about 90, our goal was 100.

our longest and most fun day was 3 or 4? We started in Seely Lake, (where I dropped in 2014) and rode to Ovando. That’s where a woman was killed by a Grizzly a month back. Had lunch and made Lincoln at 7pm.
Decided to try to make this cycling friendly place on route which was “only” 22 miles from Lincoln.
After meeting a guy looking for the Unibomer cabin (?) we started up Stemple pass. It was a 4 hour absolute soul crushing HAB. We rolled into the bike cabins at midnight

longest day on the bikes.

The days begin to blur all together and I still can’t really remember stuff. Riding into delirium, nearly falling asleep on the bike all are part of ultra distance adventure racing.
I think we made Helena the next day but not sure?

leaving Helena was a treat. There was LONG climb after LONG climb
This shot of my GPS shows an 11+ mile climb of 2900 feet of vertical at insane grades. Then it’s only 12.9 miles to the next climb. Lots of walking

Next day IIRC, we did Fleecer ridge, an absolute monstrosity of a climb then an unridable descent. I’m trying to load a couple videos.

that day ended in Butte I think? I crashed on a set of single track switchbacks going into town. After Butte, it’s 300 miles to the next bike shop on route, so we decided on a tune-up, re-supply then onward.
My bike was in good shape, my race partner was having significant brake issues. Got those fixed, hit Safeway then left town. As we left, climbing began and never stopped. We were riding on an asphalt road with lots of potholes. I apparently had my head up my ass, hit a pothole and broke a spoke. I carry a Kevlar trail fix spoke, which I installed. With the amount of miles ahead of us, we figured I’d better go back and get it fixed rather than hit nearly 300 miles of wilderness.

That is impressive. To think my longest ride was 112 around Oahu. I always wanted to join my father on Ragbri but never did. Now I am not sure I could keep up with most. Got to look into this the electric bikes. LOL

So, we roll 26 miles and 2200’ vertical feet lost back to Butte. Get in at 7pm. Bike shop closed till 11:00 AM. Get a room take my first shower and eat at Perkins.
Get to bike shop at 10:30, waiting for surly shop guy to show. He shows, gives some attitude and says give him a couple hours. Walk back around 2:00. He’s wrapping up.
We found a local girl who shuttle’s folks n the GDMBR around. She’s been watching our DOTs and offers a ride back where we turned back. But, she’s booked till 6AM.
Get another room and more sleep.
Get a ride back to that spot and continued on.

It may be a 368, but I’d bet it’s closer to 40’ on top tip to tail.

Steve, I've got an F-450 and I put Timbren's on it instead of the air bags. I've got a 40' Hallett with 2240# of tongue weight. Same thing on mine, it dropped it 2" and I just didn't like the way it looked. Kinda surprised actually that it dropped that much. Anyway, I thought I'd try the Timbrens first and I'm very happy with them. Easy to install and remove if you thought you needed to. Sags about an inch now and sets down on the Timbrens. Doesn't effect the ride without the boat either. It's still rough lol!
