thinking of letting the Daytona go( I love the Daytona, but we are getting old) and getting a 28’-30’ closed bow deep V. I rarely go much past 75mph these days and most of the time we are under 50 mph. (I never build heat in the motor)With owning in havasu now, the off summer boating is great. I would like to have a bit of a usable cabin. The wife and I are sick of the crawl on our knees to get at shit under the bow.
I like the Nordic heat and the 29-30 baja outlaw. (2005+ range closed cooling) 496ho or more STOCK.
The baja has twins, I really like twins, The heat probably does everything the baja does with a single.
I know people like to bash Baja’s but there is nothing wrong with them.

I think I can do this with no money out of pocket.( I lean towards the heat)dealer is in town.

As my post says 2005+ so used, I would think I can get $60-$75k for the Daytona, maybe I’m dreaming.

If you’re in havasu 100% of the time I’d lean towards the 28. A little easier to fit into slips etc. maintenance is cheaper with 1 engine.

I’d say go Baja if you’re boating Mead, Powell, Lake Pacific etc.

Someone else can confirm but I’m not sure when Randy took over Nordic

View attachment 660815 View attachment 660816 View attachment 660815 View attachment 660816 I replied in another thread. My first boat was a 36'Baja and we loved it. Nice Cabin I actually think the 30' Cabin is bigger as it does not have Counter Tops and such. We loved that boat and twins are great! I also think they have great lines that classic offshore look. Heres some pics of mine. We moved into a Hallett and I know there are a few 30' Hallets that offer a great Cabin plus a side access door so your not climbing in and out of the boat off the front or back. Now that I have a side door I don't know why other manufactures don't incorporate such an option.

My 2003 Heat was one of the best boats I have ever owned.

I wouldn't count out the 26 Outlaw either, it is similar dimensionally to the 28 Heat. I have one and the cabin is good sized for the length of the boat and it runs an honest 63mph on Havasu and does right at 60 on Powell with a stock 496HO. The deep V is a wave eater and offers a great ride, they can be found for between $35-45K in good shape.

Out of the two you are considering I don't think you can go wrong, but I personally would favor the 29-33 Outlaw with twins just because of the twins.

I like your thoughts on moving to a large V, and those are both Nice boats, I'd probably lean towards the Nordic with a single. I've always had in the back of my mind that I'd like to have a 30' Eagle, probably with a single because of maintenance even though a twin would be better.

I have a friend with a 30 Eagle with a single and in Havasu sometimes I wish it was twins because that would make navigating docks so much easier (as well as dealing with wind). The 30 with a single is still good but it is affected by prop torque that would not be there at all with twins. If I did a 30 Eagle it would definately have twins.
