Can i ask a dumb question? How would the logistics work if you do the havasau to tahoe run? Would everyone have to have there own chase truck or some kind of deal where you leave all the side by sides at grads house and fly back to Vegas then drive back up deal? Sorry to just ahead just curious thanks

Buy or borrow a stock spare tire. A spare axle is $75, but you can probably get a take off axle in town for cheap.

You should already have a belt or 2. A Gates belt is $65. I run the Gates c12 Carbon belt for $80.

Ride is on...If anyone wants to go let me know...At 10 cars now. Don't want to post too many details online incase the BLM Nazi's are watching. Shoot me a PM if you want to go.

Why would the BLM care if you go on a group ride? People do it regularly?

On that note unfortunately I am unable to go... My wife bought Polar Express tickets for the family and we are celebrating my sons b day that weekend (born the 3rd)

I was told anything organized needs to have a permit? Just trying to avoid any potential headaches.

I believe the permit is required for any event over 50 . We do a benifit run every Feb for Childrens Cancer and typically have over 100 cars/bikes. The folks at BLM have been very helpful and are usually out on the day fo the event.

I'm not sure if I'm on the list or not, as I was still contemplating if my 5 year old could handle it. My wife just informed me that we are out.

Still in! Have my rooms at Landing and Trop lined up. Looking forward to something like this. We are a glamis family but have done a few small poker runs in Havasu in the past.

Has anybody done something similar to this, wondering about theft with leaving our rides overnight at the hotels?

I'm gonna talk to the hotels and try and get us some secure parking. However, Id take anything valuable into the hotel with you.

Just thinking about the PCI radio and other built on items. Plus maybe getting a shifter lock for about $50 online., just another deterant from somebody stealing the entire ride.

It was epic. 325 Miles. Every terrain you could imagine. I have it all mapped so we can do it again.
I only took a few pics. We were moving the whole time.

A couple cars broke. Canam lost the primary clutch bolt and a rzr lost the bolts to the rear radius rods. Random things to happen but thankfully they happened in places we could get them picked up quick and easy.

Let me know some dates and we’ll do another one. I’m itching to do it again and even add some more to it.

How long did it take to drive each leg?

Were you pushing the boundaries on fuel at all?

I'll try and do a little recap...

Day 1:

We left Havasu at 8 am...Drove to Cabin for the first stop, found some random 10'+ Spider sculpture, and after making our own trail for a little bit, we got to Planet Ranch. From Planet Ranch we took some of the Parker 425 course into Shea Rd and had lunch at RoadRunner. After lunch, we gassed up at Terrible's (Turbo cars were on fumes at this point) and began the trek to Havasu Landing. We pulled into Havasu Landing, had some drinks and dinner/gambled a little bit.

The ride from Parker to Havasu Landing is epic. For the last 15 miles, it's pedal to the floor bombing all the way into Havasu Landing. 70mph minimum.

The Havasu Landing Casino was actually nice. I was quite surprised.

Day 2:

Met for breakfast at 8 am then hit the road. We caught a bitchen high-speed trail and got to the 95 in no time. Right before the 95, we had a CanAm lose a primary clutch bolt, which ended their ride. We called for the chase truck and we got back on the trail. We ran some more high-speed trails and then crossed the mountains to where we could see Needles. Took a short detour to Pirates Cove for lunch. While entering Needles we had a car lose BOTH of the rear upper radius rod bolts...Total fluke thing. Luckily we were next to the freeway so, after a trip to auto parts store, we got the car to the gas station and picked up.

At this point, its mid-afternoon, and we have to get to Laughlin. We take off up the CA side of 40 and get stuck in this maze of railroad tracks. We end up getting creative and end up on Needles streets. We hop on the bridge, cross the river and get into AZ. Since we are behind schedule we hop on AZ95 and head north to AVI. Once we make it to AVI the sun has set and our lights are on.

We catch an awesome trail at the base of the mountains above Laughlin. Everything from whoop roads to tight windy sand canyons with 50' walls just wide enough for a RZR. We pull into Laughlin about 5-6 pm. Met for dinner, gambled ($2,400 winner here!), and got ready for our last day.

Day 3:

Gas up in Bullhead then headed Toward Oatman. We catch this graded road and it's like heaven...75mph drifting turns, up and down, it was like being on a roller coaster. I thought I was Robbie Gordon for a few minutes LOL. Blink our eyes and Oatman is in the rearview mirror. The place was empty.

Shortly after Oatman, we catch a pole line road heading towards Havasu. This section was higher speed but pretty rocky. We had some technical climbs in and out of the washes coming off the mountain. We had a guy get a flat at the bottom of a 1/4 mile slow-speed rock climb. We get him fixed and catch a wash off of the road and end up in Golden Valley. Grab some gas just cause and then Hit Topock for lunch.

After lunch, we gas it and head towards Havasu. We cross the 40 and blasted back to Havasu. It was a fun ride...Nice fast ending to the ride. Got home at 2 pm.

It was an absolute blast. Here are a few things I learned.

Tensors and ITP Coyote (stock RZR S tire) can take an absolute punishment. It's mind-blowing how many sharp rocks we hit at high speeds and only had 2 flats.

A few things I learned:

Rugged Radios suck.

This trip did not require extra fuel.

Ramada Laughlin is an absolute dump.

I would bring 2 spares next time. It's unsettling once your spare has been used. Every rock makes you cringe wondering if you out of tires now.

I will also bring a considerable amount of random bolts that fit my car.

We had a total of 7 cars. I would not do any more than this.

These are all the pics I have...We were too focused on the ride that we didn't have time for pics. My 10yr old son was my co-dawg and it was awesome to spend some good quality time with just him. The consensus was that the ride was awesome and everyone wants to do it again.

Over New Year's we are gonna do an overnight ride to Laughlin from Havasu. Let me know if interested.

I have the PCI setup and once I got the antenna wire in the right spot, away from everything else, and the cables to the correct helmets, it works great.

Most of the problems are from the install-and not following the correct procedures. not the actual product

This. If you have problems and install another brand the exact same way, you may still have the same problem. That said, some equipment does go bad.
