Oh The Places The Woke Will Go: Dr. Seuss Canceled For ‘Racial Undertones’
Excellent point and can't believe I never really considered that.I have friends that cannot understand why I have books, and my kids have books.
Books can't be changed with a key stroke, or removed from view like the internet.
So... in Green Eggs and Ham... is the ham also green? Asking for a friend.
Sneetches is all about racism and how stupid it is in the end. They are condemning that book as well. Its time for the damn pendulum to start swinging the other way already.
Book banning, next it will be burning.
Fucking Ray Charles can see what is happening, these idiots truly want a war.
You can't just go around talking about shoving shit up your ass, this offends the gay crowd. Is that what they want ? I'm being honest here, I can't fuckin figure out what they think they're trying to accomplish with all this bullshit propaganda.
Is it raising compassion and sympathy with some age group I'm not aware of ? Is there an age or other demographic who's suddenly feeling horrible for the mistreatment of minorities ? I mean other than the bleeding heart liberals who are returning from their latest "Save the Snail" tour.
Because I can tell you, this 73 year old and his 64 year old wife aren't feeling it. Nor is anybody I know or have spoken with. I haven't felt this much racial anger ever, not even when the Army in their ultimate wisdom thought I should be roomies with two previously drug dealing brothers from Harlem. That for the record was an experiment destined for failure from the get go. But that's it, just those two in 73 years, not bad I don't think. But now I'm taking extreme exception to having this shoved up my ass and starting to feel rather ---- I shudder to use the "R" word, but yeah, that's it.
I have to say , that was awesome! One flake, two flake
Red flake, blue flake
Black flake, white flake
Old flake, new flake
It's sad to see how crazy they are
Leaning to the left so very very far
Say! What a lot of flakes there are.
Yes. Some are black and some are white
Yet so very few can ever think right
Some are sad and most are mad
but all are very, very bad.
Why are they so mad and sad and bad?
I do not know.
You should ask your dad.
True some are thin skinned
And some are thick skulled.
Some are thin and some are fat,
Look! the fat one has a pink pussy hat.
From there to hear, from here to there,
There's one thought to take,
Everyone hates a fucking snowflake
Oh damn, and here I tossed it in just for them. Damn, this shit be complicated. You can't just go around talking about shoving shit up your ass, this offends the gay crowd.
In short... yes.I was scratching my head on this as well. Are they so stupid they missed the entire point of the book?

I bought my grandson a set of real encyclopedias to help with changing history.I have friends that cannot understand why I have books, and my kids have books.
Books can't be changed with a key stroke, or removed from view like the internet. My wife has multiple sets of Suess stuff in her classroom...not one book about gender or sex. When that becomes an issue, she'll quietly bow out of that profession.
In the meantime, I find myself feeling like the "fireman" from Bradbury's book, I though it was fiction. Turns out, Fahrenheit 451 was more prophetic than I thought.
I may be starting a library of offensive works...speakeasy for nerds.

And I have these in my collection, not banned yet

YES!!!
The older encyclopedias are a GREAT resource. I have suggested this before, I have 3 sets for my grandkids. A funk and Wagnall, and a Britannica and a WOrld Book from 1974 that was actually mine as a kid. We have the Year Books up to about 1990. My 12 year old granddaughter will be using them and other honest and factual resources when she begins writing papers for classes. I mentioned this to one of the private school history teachers I know and he started buying up sets on CL.
You can buy them cheap, 25 bucks to maybe 100, all day long. People think the kids can "Get it off the net" which is exactly what the progressives want them to do, the web is full of revisionist history.
AWESOME JOB!!!
My folks bought the world book encyclopedia in the early 70s . I would read those things and the fascinating facts for hours on end. There was also a giant dictionary.

Barnes&Noble will have them pulled already. I've noticed they seem to be the leading edge of cancel crap. If you have any Mom&Pop places, they will be the best shot.Wife told me this morning to go find the 6 books that are being discontinued. Guess I am running to book stores today.
Good luck....these books are going for some serious coin now so i wouldnt be surprised if resellers already swooped them up.Wife told me this morning to go find the 6 books that are being discontinued. Guess I am running to book stores today.

Yellowish with blue, green, pink, purple hair... prescient.Barnes&Noble will have them pulled already. I've noticed they seem to be the leading edge of cancel crap. If you have any Mom&Pop places, they will be the best shot.
If this becomes an issue, I'll start reprints!
The "Cat in the Hat" was black...Thing 1 and Thing 2 were yellowish with blue hair...seems pretty inclusive to me.
Good luck....these books are going for some serious coin now so i wouldnt be surprised if resellers already swooped them up.
Interesting

In short... yes.
Affirmative action is on its way back (although it is called something different), even though it is founded on and completely supports racism by definition.
Texting wife right now. She needs to bring the contraband home...went to 4 places. Either pulled from shelves or the small family owned shops want crazy money.
when I told wife the place wants over 100 per book, she said not worth it
The article is from 2010.She's smart enough to know that Learning for Justice is a big POS. Good for her to not cave into the BS.
