Did any of the boats ever end up going back to the previous owners in this debacle? I thought something in the AZ law protected all the new owners as they bought them through a licensed broker? And all the previous owners are basically hung out to dry on all of these boats that Tim sold?

It's not just AZ law.. and you'd be correct. A lot of the old owners got hung out to dry.. In some cases the new owners got hung out to dry. The only lucky ones were the old owners, that were smart and repo'd their shit and had to get a bit shady to keep it, which in turn fucked the people that paid Tim. For the most part though most the people that bought em, kept em..

The hard money loans on the titles of boats (that were literally just titles to boats.. not signed to Tim or them) got boned. So did alot of other people.

Anyone ever heard of Michael Vorce? This guy lived like a rock star, somewhat local to me. He makes little Timmy look like a saint. I guess you get thrown in prison if you screw banks...but if you screw the average Joe its OK?

Yeah that sure looks like him..

Last I heard he was back up in Oregon.. I'd be surprised to hear that he was living in Newport Beach CA.

Just out of sheer curiosity.. How the hell did you get those pics?

RD
Someone sent me the pics. This person tried talking to him. He denied knowing this person at all.

A family member of mine has a business on the island there and said has seen him around for a while now.

They are criminally charging him this week so he should be in jail fairly soon. Unfortunately other than a civil suit Indontnbelieve you have any recourse on getting the boat back or the money. :(

Honestly, with no humor at all, I am surprised he is still walking. With the power level of people he screwed over and the "resources" available to those with disposable income, or their own two hands, crippled or dead I thought would be a certainty. But I guess no one wanted to figuratively or literally "pull the trigger" because the moment you do, you are settling with the idea you will never see your money or your boat again. Its hard to squash that last 1% of hope. Any guesses on how many millions he has embezzled in sales he never funded the original owner?

I was awarded a judgment against him and OCM then he fled like the coward he is back to Oregon. Now I hear he’s in Ca. Hopefully the justice system will make all this right!

The reason he is still walking is because a lot of the people he screwed are really wealthy. If they get caught in some petty bullshit like having someone break his legs and get caught it isn’t worth it to potentially lose it all.

He did get into one guy for some money though and that person put a gun in his mouth and rattled it around in there enough to chip his teeth etc. needless to say that guy got paid. Lol

I am sure everyone would love to pull that scene from casino where Pesci is trying to get his money back from the banker. Talking about beating him into a coma, going to jail for years, and getting out when the guy comes out of the coma, and doing it again, “because I’m that fucking stupid, you put my money to sleep you son of a bitch, get my money!”

Welcome to the club Terry. We are a pretty large group of boaters that got screwed by Tim.
We meet up every second Tuesday of the month at a local bar to bash Tim, then we walk out on our bar tabs in his honor.
All kidding aside sorry he got you. He did the same thing with my Nordic flame. had it sold for over a year lying to that he still had it until the end.

some.....many peeps are alive simply because it's illegal to kill them. Most people won't risk further damage to their lives by attempting to get even.

I bought a boat from that pos. Last I heard I was one of the few he made right because I am not someone you want to F with. I wasn’t just going to sit back and be ripped of. Sometimes the only choice is to get gangster. I read somewhere last year that he had been arrested finally.

He had trial back in January I believe just a slap on the wrist from what I remember

looking like he is going to take a plea deal, and sentencing on the one count he was found guilty of. The deal will include restitution for all the claims from the trial, but that is worth as much as the paper its printed on. Sentencing will be June 12th, but with prisoners being let out of jail because of Covid, I can not imagine the judge will sentence as strictly as he would of pre Coved.

I believe I mentioned a plea deal many times, most of these at face a re trail when the DA suggests he will file a new case end up this way. lets see how this goes. Good for the DA to push on this, he could have just let it to as it was.

I have been around for years, used to have a different screen name and I can’t remember it or the email address I used. I have read every post on tim since all this happened with my boat. Had a friend send me something unrelated but actually related this morning that made me finally have to say something. Lol. I have the same screen name on rcd, desert rangers, glamis dunes, pirate off-road and a few others I am forgetting.

Its actually kinda funny. I just bought a boat sight unseen from a guy, from Havasu, named Tim. I had good conversation, but like any sight unseen your always a bit worried about things. I pulled up Tim in Havasu and this and other threads came to my attention. Long story short, it was a different Tim and I am extremely happy with my purchase, but Tim McDonald needs to go.
