oil change wtf

So I usually change the oil myself, but short on time right now. Motor us a CAT C7... takes 19 quarts and a filter.... this usually runs me about $100 in materials at the CAT dealer.

I called petes road service here in Corona, and they wanted $545-595 for an oil change!! damn

who are you guys using for an oil change, and how much $$$



I used a mobile company when I first got the moho about 5 years ago, and they came to me and did oil and fuel filter + lube chassis for $375... but they no longer do mobile service.

$200 for my ram 3500. 2 gallons of synthetic I believe.

Edit 12 quarts. Not sure what the filter costs on your engine but over $400 seems high.

I was usually right at $100 for CAT brand oil and filter.... That's what threw me off. I was expecting $250-350.... It is a 20-30min job max.

I think I paid 600 for both engine and generator service. Oil and fuel filters and lube all zer fittings. 26 qts of oil in engine. I would do it myself but we full time and most rv parks frown on this being done by other than mobile service.

I buy all my oil at Walmart and filters on Amazon and take a day and do all my cars at once. Not paying the crazy prices.

lol it takes at least 30 minutes just to grease a motor home.

also a full service includes a fuel filter or 2 water filter,air filter cleaned or changed. air tires. check all fluid levels.check lights.to do it right is about 2 hours

that quote was just motor oil and filter change. Nothing else. Usually takes me 20-30min in my driveway.

Back to doing it the old school way and getting my hands dirty. $107 in parts vs $90 two years ago.
