Buddy has an 04 26' Chaparral boat, going in for service and detail. also putting new tires on the trailer so will be ready to use. i may borrow it for the 4th :)
Since prices don't make sense these days what would a good price be to start at?
single 5.7 motor so not a speed demon. think he spent all his money on the stereo and not motor.

good luck. Prices are all over the place. But a small block is probably a good fit. Fuel efficient and reliable, and most likely still do 50.

He said to me that he does that in hopes of getting there and not having to set anything up and food and drinks are ready.....:looking:
He's usually the one with all the goods so we gladly made room for him 😁

That's about right. Although, was not the best at taking on much of the Havasu washing machine chop.....plenty of freeboard though.

Covid prices put it up for at least $20k o.b.o and see what he gets for offers

I had a 96 crownline 22' open bow I Sold for $13k last year. I was asking $14k and after 6months someone actually came and looked with money in hand and a offer.

I’m guessing, 25k in today’s market. It does have a nice tower and looks to be in good shape.

He would get at least 40K for that right now with reasonable hours on it. If it the 5.7 its a little underpowered for a 26' but will get the job done. Does it have the dual prop drive?

We picked up our ‘04 232 with 230ish hrs, has all the stuff with it- tables, extra cushions to make beds I guess etc. Paid 20 then added tower and stereo. Ours has a 5.0. In Parker it’ll run 45-50, at home (NM) we have to prop it down so we run 40-45 here. Summer Saturdays in Parker you can run 25-30 pretty well without beating anything up.
I would Never have looked at or considered one until I toasted the pistons in my Advantage on the first of a 10 day Needles trip. A good Buddy offered his for us to use. I hesitated, but he wasn’t going to take no for an answer so we picked it up. The very first time we took off in it, my wife told me to sell the Advantage and find one. So easy to enjoy, front and rear floor washers, storage for days, room, quiet. We got home from that trip, rebuilt the Advantage motor and sold it. For us, no looking back. It’s not the baddest MoFo on the water, but it makes a vacation a vacation!!

With today’s pricing I would price it out mid to high 30ks. I sold ours for 32k before this market went crazy. It’s not a 50mph boat unless it’s on the trailer. 😂 but you should see 40-45 but that’s pushing it. That 5.7 will sip fuel and last a weekend of boating with no problem. As far as handling the Havasu chop. Good luck. I’ve found by loading the ice chests in the bow of the boat and passengers up front it tends to ride better. If you have FaceBook list it in the Chaparral page.
Good luck with the sell.
