This is in the top deck only in the maroon color. Side look fine (Don't mind the dirt from the last outing)
Any ideas to remove it without re- gel coating? What caused it?

And let me add that it's when you get close you can see it. And you have to pont out to some. It bothers me. I like to fix it but if I can't I can't. The darn thing still looks good

Nope smooth as can be.
Hard to say without seeing in person.
For some reason burgundy doesn’t hold color as well as others.
Saw an Eliminator a couple weeks ago that looked pretty damn good for an 80sometbing, other than the burgundy which had turned a sort of pink.
It didn’t buff out.
It got shiny, but the color didn’t come back.
Yours is at least close to OG color.

I’d say this is probably beyond fixing in the driveway and you need a pro to check it out.

Personally, I’d probably live with it, as I know what kind of snowball it could become.
Again, that’s without seeing it in person.
I might pull the trigger in real life?

Gelcoat repair guys are super swamped right now from what I can see.
Wait tomes might be unbearable.

Run it the season and enjoy your boat.
Season ends, get it someplace and make some decisions.

I am not a gel coater, but I did tape off molds for Bruce Nescher in Santa Fee Springs many years ago. ( working inside curves in a mold sucks, I give Gelcoater two thumbs up for his trade.

I was a custom painter for all my life. It would not be as durable as gel coat, but I have done several boats where we would sand with 600 grit and then put a few coats of candy paint ( in you case maroon ) ( candy's are transparent ) over your color and clear coat to bring back the color and shine.

Thanks for the replies. If there is something I could do for it I would if not it stays. Its on all the top maroon surfaces. Nothing on the sides nor the side up near the top. It's kinda weird. I have seen gel in the reds turn to pinks. This even in the damaged areas still holding it's color. Thanks
