Old Style Kiekhaefer Tab Help

Anybody have knowledge or experience with these old style (obsolete) K-tabs
Gotta drip on one side

They look they would be a bitch to remove due to the ram, cylinder and hydraulics are inside the transom. The hole is about 2-3 inches to accommodate the cylinder.

No hoses go through the transom as all the late model tabs do..

A shit ton of silicone through the hole in the transom

(The pic uninstalled is reference only, not mine)

I can't figure out how you'd remove this thing

I would assume if you pull the bolt off that connects the ram to the tab you would be able to un thread the end of it from the ram

I haven't determined if it does unscrew.... Looks like it shouId, cause you couldn't get the rod through the plate

I'll take a closer look

Well... the shaft doesn't detach. The unit is all one piece when installed, which is the reason for the huge hole in the transom. I also need the resistor sensor for the electronic gauge, #40, which is NLA...

Gonna be a long weekend in the near future.... or it maybe time for some Danas:)
