Only person looking at the camera and smiling is a nice looking blond back in the middle of that mass. Seems a little weird. She’s next to another blond wearing dark glasses.

It’s the early 60’s.

Do you guys notice the gas pump on the dock?

It was removed by 1965
I was looking at that and had no idea there was ever a fuel pump at Foxes.
Pretty cool pic.

I don't know, it looks like the guy sitting on the bow of the boat is talking on a cell phone. :D. Time travel proven???

Got me thinking…Heck still had gas docks at Lake Elsinore on the south end in the early 70s. Same for Blue Water Marina also.
Since we’re talking old school Parker anyone remember the Pow Wow Room bar at Blue Water?

I sure do!

I ate a ton of breakfasts at Blue Water Restaurant, that was connected to Pow Wow Room.

Across the street towards casino was Franks Marine & Sporting Goods. Along with Franks Standard gas station, and boat storage garages. I think the storage had Ellis Marine on the doors. My dad stored his boat there, until they built the storages at Badenochs. The other side was open field, where casino now sits. That is also where the old road went through. Back then, there was no 95. My dad and Frank were great friends. We Dove Hunted every year with Frank growing up.

Sad Story…..

Frank Ellis’s son Jimmie was a boat racer. He died at the river in the late 60’s when he lost control of his boat and ran into a dock, which decapitated him, during the Parker Enduro or whatever they called it back then. They could not find his head and eventually buried him without his head. A week or so after the funeral, they discover his head in the river. They then dig Jimmie back up and reunite him and his head. Frank and Sue Ellis never got over what happened. They were super cool to my family.

Really cool picture..

To show ya how times have changed.

Can you imagine a bunch of people laying out on the dock like that now? Lol. They’d probably kick you out.

Second do you know anyone that would lay on that dock now? 😳

I have a story
When I was a kid, late 70s.
Hanging out eating taquitos at foxes.
A dude in a flatty was zooming laps in front of the bar.
He makes a lap, loses it a little and hits a brand new day cruiser tied to the dock.
The cruiser went up on the dock, fell back into the water and was totaled.
We where sitting at the picnic tables on the dock, the cruiser was inches from us.
My old mans buddy John Stamps was on his feet ready to kick some ass.
At least no one got hurt, at least not until the guy in the flatty showed up.

The first pic is exactly how it was……

Go to dam, tie off to cable until there are multiple boats wide…… Then the late arrivals tie off to the ski rope of the boat in front of them.

These parties were HUGE back in the day. You would walk from bow to bow, to get around.

Very cool pics. I don’t go that far back but sure miss the old days of the river when it was just about water, fun & sun instead of LAM. Definitely miss the days of flatties running every evening.

Dam pics are cool ~ surprises me how many don’t know it’s the deepest dam in the world.

And the pic showing what’s now RiverLand ~ never heard it called Finger Mountain??? We always thought it was the Parker Pecker. 🙃
