Anybody pick up a new unit with the billet ends yet? Or replaced the cast pieces w the billet? Looking in to doing it, who knows how old my unit is.

What kind of lifespan are people seeing out of these coolers anyway?

Mine has to be 25 years old at least. I had it polished and got a new set of o rings for it. I’ve never heard of any problems with them.

Any pitting? Put new orings in mine 2 seasons ago and it was kinda scary looking with pitting. Put a few small dabs of silicone for security

Some pitting, but nothing that should cause a problem. Billet ends would look trick though!

They are pretty new. Brian told me about them a little over a year and a half ago while I was picking up a pan.

Change them if you use your boat on the Parker strip 😂

Yes the front cap had a super small pin hole leak .
That’s scary, and what I’m trying to have piece of mind from. I’m sure mine is original to 1981. Was it leaking into the oil or just out of the cooler to the bilge?

Head's up- if you see this or a prop or ANYTHING for sale from vdrivenut, run.
Bought a "good, clean, used cooler" from him, see pics.
Caps are rotted so they won't seal and the bent core is packed with dried mud.
Claims my issue isn't with him, its with the broke neighbor he's helping sell stuff. Yeah, OK.
Congratulations, vdrivenut, Steve Canales, 310-880-8276, you just royally fk'd up.
