Looking for input from the RDP brain trust.

Im taking the kids to Williams AZ the weekend of April 11-14 to ride train into the Grand Canyon. We’re coming from Upland CA, and thought it would be nice to drive out to Parker Thursday the 10th, have dinner and stay over a night somewhere near the Roadrunner, then make our way into Williams Friday.

We’re driving a conversion van and don’t really need hookups or anything, just a place to spend the evening. The only local place I’m familiar with is the Pirates Den.

Thoughts? Other resorts or areas to conveniently park overnight (BLM land)?

For context, this weekend is my 5 year anniversary of a bone marrow transplant after cancer that I didn’t think I’d make it through. Not trying to do anything fancy, just want to spend some time road-tripping with my kids after a humbling few years.

Cheers

La Paz is right next door to pirates( in the same park area so to speak) if you got a spot near road runner you could walk there

LaPaz or Pirates. It’s the same park and next door to Road.

You can drycamp right on the River at BlueWater. Think it’s like $15 a night.

If La Paz is full you can try Buckskin or River Island State Parks, you can walk to Sundance/Fox's from Buckskin.

When traveling to or from Williams a stop at Lilo’s West Side Cafe in Seligman is highly recommended. Seligman is a very small town. The Cafe is on their little main drag. It’s old school and outstanding. One slice of the carrot cake to-go will feed many.
