agree, nice it was able to run as planned.I liked Bluewater, but La Paz Park was a good change of venue. The course seemed shorter than what they run at Bluewater, but it was a nice stretch of river right there for the circles.
We raced at La Paz long before Bluewater was a hotel/casino, but when it went to Bluewater it was a bit more convenient from the standpoint of e the hotel/casino being right behind the races. Made dealing with families a little easier, and no extra driving.
Either way, I'm just happy the event was allowed to go on as scheduled, its been tradition.
Jet boats go fast enough to race?agree, nice it was able to run as planned.
I'm curios as to how they managed rec. boat traffic thru the area and wakes in general from boats playing on the river?
Did any jet classes race?

thanks..makes sense. With having public access from both ends of the course that would make for a whole bunch more management, save for the weather this particular event. It will be interesting to see how this works out in warmer weather such as April. The loaded ballast roll bar boats making u-turns and "showing off their mad skills" for the people floating, waiting to get thru is my main concern for the racers. those rollers will roll a long way thru the course and pose a significant un-expected risk to the racers. For now, lets hope it never becomes an issue. Thanks for the reports. much appreciated.Same way they always manage boat traffic. They post patrol boats and the top and bottom of the course and stop any public traffic going into the closed course. When heats are over and there is a short break, the patrol boats open the course to public transit through the course. Then they shut it down again when heats get ready to go again.
Though with the cold and the wind, extra boats was really not much of a factor. Had it been warmer, it would have been different, but they handle it the same.

Nice.. I only go back as far as NJBA drags @ blue water as early as 1980. Anything prior is b4mt. I am quite certain the river was significantly less busy back then. Cool they can still get it done there safely.Racing at La Paz is nothing new, the Thanksgiving races were held their for nearly 40 years prior to Bluewater. Also the river was closed for Kilo trials at La Paz park every year. I think the world outboard Kilo record still stands at 170 plus miles per hour at La Paz.
Looks like it went really good! I sat there in my boat with the heater going until it just got to warm! But kept busy as North Patrol!
