Was a blast! got down there Friday around 4, talked to Barry for a bit on my motor build then headed over to Pirates. Saturday breakfast at Fox's, the tow truck breakfast is legit! Races were great, good to see a lot of people haven't seen in a while

ADBA said that it was the biggest crowd that they ever had for Parker. There were about 80 boats participating. Getting out to the start from the launch ramp seemed like a shit show. The announcer was constantly calling for boats to get to the startling line. Overall, the crowd was great, the boat racing was good, and there wasn’t even an admission into the gate for spectating. The only negative was the viewing area, the screened in cabanas and the palm trees block the view. I'd start the boats at La Paz to create a better viewing like the Enduro or remove all of the cabana screening.

Sat at the Pirates bar, breakfast burrito and Bloody Mary’s, viewing was good there but I agree all the private cabanas was a little off setting. I will say some of the snowbirds were inviting, go ahead set up your chairs here!

Yep, the monopoly on the beach and cabanas wasn’t great for spectators. We even got booted from Windmill II on Sunday. There was no one there, beach was empty but the park warden came and asked us to leave. 🙄
Certainly not the spirit of the river.

I tried to snap a few pics by a sno-turds covered cabana ,...Sno turd yells at me and says, "They will shut down the races if they see me with out a wrist ban,"
I have no idea what he was talking about... I saw no wrist bands. Also same thing at all boat races, Dreaded time between races ! Still great to watch !

Definitely not good for spectators. One of the snowflakes thought he owned everything from the back of his MH to the rivers edge. What an ass.

Hopefully the crowd and the loud boats made his day more interesting. Snowbird life looks boring as hell to me if you come to the river without a boat or an off road vehicle.

I drove in at 11am, Pirates den parking lot. No one was at the front entrance. I turned right and ended up parking by the pits........I would gladly pay, I never saw any
thing about paying or any type of collection. I left around 2PM drove out the same gate, nothing there about a fee. Also they should have the pits by the lagoon launch
ramp, I think that makes more sense ......

They don’t charge locals if you know the people working the gate. 🤷🏼‍♂️😀

I’ve never heard anyone having the ability to own anything beyond the high water mark.
park rules. i dont make them. it is nice when you want to park the boat in your own spot. we rent there every year. during races we pretty much host anyone that wants to hang in the cabana or beach as long as they're not being assholes. makes it fun.

I really appreciated the hospitality along with the free shuttle service that Linda provided. 👍👍 hope to see the two of you soon! :)

Was my first time at Pirate's Den. We were pitted out in the dirt at La Paz, which I hadn't been to since a truck run back in 1994. lol.
Pirate's patio is a really cool spot, it was maybe 100ft from the starting line. I ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. My favorite part of the whole weekend was driving my boat from the launch ramp, past the bar and out to the holding rope. Seeing all those peeps on the patio with drinks in hand was really cool. I wish more racers drove their boats out because it would have made for a better show and reduced the amount of time between races.
The only issue we had with the boat was a cracked cylinder head, which was leaking water under the valve cover. We discovered it after our first pass on Friday during the test n tune session. We borrowed a space heater to heat up the head, then cleaned it and smothered it in JB weld, which held up all weekend long.
Overall, I couldn't have had more fun unless I did something that sent me to jail. Most of my old boat racing friends were there helping out in my pit. We were number 1 qualifier in the Quick Eliminator class and we took Second Place in that class and the 660 shootout class, losing the final round to Kjel. His boat is a monster and although I treed him, he drove around me by .08 second for the win. I made a few videos for my Youtube channel. The first one is live now and the second will be live later today. Here's the first one:

Same here, we went in and was never asked to pay an admission.
