Hey Y'all, this weekend is the first race for the 2020 NWSRA Water Ski Race Season.
Normally we run from Bluewater Resort & Casino to Marina View Estates. This year due to outrageous Insurance requirements set on All event happening at the casino we will not be running from that venue.
We have made a deal with the folks at LaPaz County Parks and will be running from Patria Flats (between The fire station & Strokes Bar & Grill) on Riverside Dr. This is a Day Use park run by the county Parks, they have granted us private use of the facility there for our race teams and spectators.
****Attention to all the public traffic, we have an approved U.S. Coast Guard permit for use of the river from Head Gate Dam 6.5 miles up stream (top of LaPaz County Park)****
We will be running a race lap just shy of 5miles (picture attached). Our Race Course will have a turn at Bass Point (bottom end of Emerald Cove Resort) and at LaPaz County Park above Pirates Den. We will have volunteer Patrol Boats at each end of the course and a couple through out. They will all have "RACE IN PROGRESS' signs and big Orange Flags. There can be no traffic passing through the course while races are in progress. Passage through will be allowed in-between races and at breaks.
This is a big change for our event. I am posting this in hopes to notify the public. Please lass the word around. Come watch our races & check out some cool ski race hardware. I Race Chairman/VP of the association, by all means if you have questions call me if you have my number or you can message me here. I will be onsite through the weekend participating in boat 222, stop by and say hello.
