The Sheriff was out in force yesterday along riverside drive. I counted 4 from Miraleste to the public launch ramp, two of 'em were laying in wait. I don't know if this is another saturation patrol or just a warm up for the weekend or Risen's last hurrah.

I sure hope the incoming Sheriff is more like Boat Cop.

We made a drinking game out of it. My buddies are in Marina Manor and can see where the Po-Po hides waiting. I'm in Marina View Estates. We can see each other across the way.
When the Po-Po pulls out behind someone, they text me with "busted" or "no bust". Cars usually make it to the signal at the 95 before the red and blue lights come on. They pull over and I can watch the sobriety tests etc. They guess if they have to, or what sobriety test they will do. If you're wrong - drink up! There can be 4 cops hiding there alone and they stay busy. Its good entertainment.

Saturation enforcement.. or Hyper enforcement..

Who needs tourism?

Risen said he was going to clean up Parker ...

Like so many that have arrived from California with a pocket full of cash and a dream, they are here to help. They come to show these Parkabilly's how it's done in the big city and how it will be done here, they remind me of missionary's.
They are usually greeted with open arms and when they are given the key to the gate it's not to get in but to get out.

If more people started using the safewaters app, we could make Parker a safer place to live. ;)

We used to sit in my front yard drinking and have plates with 1-10 on them. When people got lit up at the launch ramp. We would judge their sobriety test.

So Parker is locked and gated now?

Perfect 🥰

I may glorify the ole days too much but...

I recall partying in Parker or Copper in the 80’s with mass crowds and for the most part it went reasonably well.

LOL “ The Patrol boat” would make a pass or 2 and that was about it. Big weekends maybe an extra boat, still a small sliver of today.

LOL I think things went to shit when nudity was clamped down on :)

This was on the road, riverside dr.

Just to be fair to the LEO in Parker and along the Parker Strip. I have had two contacts with LEO while living or visiting Parker. First time was in 1963 and the last time was 2003.

Wheeler delivers!

Drove by your house and no one was home. Is everyone at the launch ramp getting juiced up?

Spread the word to the people in Manor Heights.

dont break the law, dont drink and drive.dont be a dick.no problem................

A friend of mine, LDS, was pulled over during last years saturation patrol and harassed. He has never drank, smoked, or even thought an evil thought. He was leaving the casino after dinner with family, they just wanted a nice dinner.

One more thing, his 99 year old mother was with them.

My best friends parents had a place in Big River in the late 80’s, early 90’s...my first experience at the river. We drove to Kokomo’s to “hit the club” lol and on our way back stopped at Taco Bell in Parker. My friend was driving and chirped his wheels in his manual stick shift hard body Nissan...and we go pulled over.

They pulled us all out of the truck...even the guys sitting in the bed and searched everything. They found the beers we put under the bench seat...made us pour them out and let us go to the river house. My buddy wasn’t tanked like the rest of us, not a big deal.

I guess I am old thinking about the good old days.

If you remember I'd slam DUIs and OUIs like it could save your life. (It did)

One Memorial Day I spent a total of about 1 hour on the water. Every time I pulled away from the dock somebody did a stupid right in front of me, and be drunk. I think I pulled in 10 or 12, over two days. And these weren't any borderline shit. My average BACs were above .13%.

Couple weeks ago, we were on the river on Saturday. I saw a ton of stupid shit going on, and not a single patrol boat on the water. Yes we went dam to dam.

I would have been happy to see the boys in blue out doing what they do, but no, not a single one.

How come there was nobody out there?

That there is the problem. You had to do a stupid. Nowadays. The people doing stupid are left alone and abruptly boat they an gets pulled over for a “safety check” and interrogation.

Yep.

I bet back then most boaters on the river seeing a complete drunk jackass behind the wheel would be more than happy to tell LEO where he went. Now, sadly probably not and for the above stated reasons

Where I boat on the Sacramento River they'll drive by and wave. Once in a while they'll stop at our beach and hand out a ski flag or key chain with a safety message on it. We're all usually drinking beer. I got stopped in a safety inspection 17 years ago. That's the last time.

I imagine that people were saying the same thing about us as we blew by them in the Stoker.

I'm sure the drunks at Road Runner enjoyed the single pin turn though.
