This is just a question, so people with the bigger boats please dont throw a fit. Would it be a good idea to make the parker strip a two kind of boating ordeal? Meaning break up the days of the week for certain kinds of boats? 22' and smaller say run on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 23' and bigger Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, with Sunday an all boats day?
Just thinking this because as many of you know, you dont dare to really go out after say 9am during the summer in a smaller boat. Hell sometimes you better be off the water by 7am.

You didn't get the memo?
All boats over 21' are banned on the strip, trying to run any antler boat will get you arrested and severely beaten...

Still going to get wakeboats at 22ft that will destroy the water. I would be for no ballast on the river.
Well there is no doubt about that. But most 22'wake boats are not full on wake board boats that carry 5000lbs of water to sink themselves. Lol

Please don’t beat me up but I have to ask why would you take a 25 plus foot boat on 17 miles of 200 foot wide river?
I would understand if there was no Havasu, Mojave and Mead, said bigger boats are much more fun in big water.
And I get the whole Parker Strip vibe been boating the strip since 1972 on high school spring break but in a offshore?
So what I’m I missing?

The most interesting thing with the "River Regulars" is that they fail to differentiate between big boats moving fast with little wake and 23' wake surf boat destroying docks. It's not the size of the boat, it's purpose of the boat. I mean I've crossed a few large boat wakes after they hauled ass past me and they were like nothing. Wake surf boats going 45 still have a terrible wake.

Now onto 17 miles and 200 feet wide. There's a lot to do in that 17 miles. I can think of about 5-8 places to stop for lunch or a drink right on the water. There are two sandbars and a casino. Floating up by the damn is nice. The keys are a really cool setup that you don't see on many waterways in Socal/AZ. Sometimes on Havasu, I only boat within a 17 or less mile stretch all day. I don't have to go all the way to Pirates and then to Havasu Springs to justify a day of boating.

Why is an impossible question to answer for everyone but I can answer for my family. I have been going to Parker for 39 years, we can only afford one boat, and honestly 25' is the right size for my family at this point. It is a great Havasu boat and an ok Parker boat when we want to cruise Parker for variety. We are always respectful, never tow or tube in Parker, and we spend money at the local spots. I think we are geeat for the Parker area. In fact our 25 lived and boated on Parker for 10+ years before we bought it.

Setting up any type of regulations is a bad idea in my opinion. Size first, then speed, then no towing certain days, then hours of the day, ect...... where does it stop and who decides.

I agree. I was just asking a question. But I will say that most big boats are not running at 40,50 on up to keep the wake manageable.
But my question was not about shutting down the river either.

The issue has gotten worse at the river....its wake board boats. The beach’s are getting messed up, the day of crushing up the strip in a larger boat is over due to the wake board boats...

I'm a river regular, I live here, I absolutely get the difference. Wake surf ballast tank/wake shapers boats gotta go. And I'll take go fast big boats all day.

It actually is wake surf boats with full ballast tanks/ wake shapers. Just because the boat has a tower doesn't mean they are running big ballast tanks and playing let's pretend i know how to surf while destroying the water for everyone else.

Well... long story short... We live in America.!!🇺🇸🇺🇸 And we don’t listen very well when some one tells us what to do. While I sympathize with the smaller boats it’s just the way it is.. If anyone seriously even considered anything like your proposing it would be the beginning of the end... Next would be I can only drive my 3500 Dually on Saturdays and required to drive a Prius on other days just to be sure the Prius driver not feel like they are driving car coffins. Or I can only shoot my .22 in stead of my 45 on set days.. NOT going to happen. We own a home on the water in Parker with a private launch ramp... And I don’t see anyone telling me what boat I can take out of what day... We are as respectful as possible to all boaters and even the lake lice.. I do agree that the river has gotten very unsafe at times with the amount of people this last year but that is when us boaters have the choice to launch on the river or lake depending on what boating your looking for..!
Who proposed anything? Right from the get go I said dont lose your panties over the "question".

Never gonna happen. If you want to avoid the yuppies you gotta go off season and during the week or find somewhere else.

Parker may have started out as Hot Rod boat heaven but those days are gone forever. Hopefully you’re old enough to have experienced Parker of old. 👍

I'm glad I moved to ky. The first lake 25 miles from me has 2064 miles of shoreline. I don't think its gonna get crowded anytime soon.

I never would want that to happen Jerry. I believe everybody should be able to use the water the way they want to use it,and when they want to use it. I was just throwing out the question to see what the majority of people would think.
I got to spend alot of time on the strip when I was young in the 70's. My pop would take us down there for a two week vacation twice a year during summer from oregon for about 8 years.

It's stupid busy there now during peak season. Not even fun anymore you have to be so defensive.

Yes it does. Just got everything finished to late to get it in the water last season. When it warms up some, I just need to replace a couple of relays for my trim tabs now. Then put the interior back in it. Have 90% of it in one of the bedrooms so it stays nice.

Parker sux. Plus it's closed now. There is no reason to go there.

Havazoo is the best place to be.

Reminds me of the idiots that tried to make Havasu a no wake zone from the top of the lake to topock. Basically for canoes, kayaks only. Go ahead give the gov another reason to take a inch. Of coarse they will grab a mile.

It's called personal responsibility. When I want to enjoy the river in my low freeboard boat, I do so on Sun-Thursday or on an off-season weekend. I don't need the government to designate my boating days, I can figure out what days work best for my equipment on my own.
