Why in the hell cant people process and learn how to talk on a Conference call!? All these newbies on Zoom meetings talking over each other. This shit is hilarious. They have no clue, people talking over each other, not muting. I'm trying to tell people its like a CB radio, you have to wait for the other person to finish. Doesn't help. Fucking talking over each other, each person stuttering. I need to record this shit, it cant be made up.

Anyone else want to throw their monitors out the window?

My daughter has been on Zoom for college stuff, wife uses something from Google...College students and college grads...it's like a damn radio comedy for me to listen across the room. F'n "Who's On First?".
No thank you. Glad I get my solitary confinement in the shop.

My wife is using Zoom for work and my daughters teachers all seem to be using what they want to use.

One of em is using Twitch! It's gaming software I'm told? Thinking outside the box! Lol

We've been using GoTo meetings for years... work went all in on Skype maybe two years ago.

The noobs finally learning and attempting to use was funny at first, be gets really old quickly.

First thing to do... if you dial in on a cell phone, please mute your computer microphone... the feedback you get is enough to blow out your ears

The stuff you hear while people aren't muted can be pretty funny. Also the ones that don't know they have their camera on.

I always have electric tape over my camera LOL.

In my former career, I was in a conference call with a vendor who had no idea his camera was on.

We had digging for nasal gold for about 3 minutes and the side bar chat window was full of people getting grossed out.

At some point he realized what was up and simply disconnected. He never returned calls or emails after this happened so we had no choice but to fire him as a vendor.

My wife is a Sales Mgr for an insurance company. She manages the new people just out of training class working from home. The stories she tells of noobs logging into meetings are crazy. People logging in to a meeting topless (both sexes) and just this week a guys wife comes in the room behind her husband while he was live and she's got on a skimpy bra and thong.

The two thing that always make me laugh is when #1) someone forgets and they are are not on mute and is going off or talking shit about someone else and #2) Dogs barking in the back ground always crack me up when they are trying to be all professional and shit.

Dogs are probably more common now because of so many people working from home but its still funny. My damn dog starts barking when I get on the phone so I know better than to be around his ass on any calls

We have one every Monday morning that’s a telecast to every officer in the Company. A couple times a year it gets off the charts fantastic. We were getting an update on a national disaster and someone accidentally unmuted. Went on a 5 minute rant on the Steelers. It was awesome to say the least. We’re now doing at least 3 Webex “‘meetings” a day. I alternate between sport coats and themed outfits for my entertainment.
Daughter captured and posted earlier this week

It’s pretty crazy. Also the amount of people that show up with messy hair/ pjs on a video call is pretty bad too.
We use ms teams here. I am doing about 15 video calls a week now

Our group (21 people) is all on work from home so we have a daily recap call M-F. It is completely useless and turns into everybody talking about what they heard on the news or read online. F’n waste of time. A few of us that still go into the shop a couple days a week and when the stupid water cooler chat gets out of hand we jam the mics to shut everybody up. Best part is nobody can figure out what’s going on. One day they said let’s cut the meeting short since there’s a bad connection. 🤣🤣🤣

Childish - sure
Satisfying - absofuckinglutely!!!!

Been doing webex for years in normal course of business because we are so spread out so everyone is pretty much experienced, Probably do 8 or 10 a day. Ours are usually not videos, just audio with someone presenting something. Years ago I was doing a webex and presenting something to some engineers in Singapore, and the webex ended but I did not shut it down. I went to email and just then an IM popped up from my girlfriend. Something like don't you wish I was naked underneath your desk right now. I got an IM immediately from one of the US guys in SIngapore telling me I should probabaly shut down the webex because the message popped up on their conference room screen. Haha. Now I just share aps, when you change aps it makes you reshare.

We have the same and have been doing them for a while. They also have no clue how to put their phones on mute.

It is pretty crazy. I have had to do them for a long time at the river and I have a couple dress shirts hanging in the closet for such occasions. Family and friends would crack up when I opened my office door board shorts and a starched shirt before we would go out on the lake. Good times. They understand now.

We use a different system than Zoom, but it's basically the same thing. We were on a department-wide call last Friday and everyone had muted. The meeting host screwed something up and in fixing it managed to unmute everyone. Immediately, a ton of background noise, kid noise, etc., and clear as day, one guy says to someone in his house, "yeah, I'm just on this fucking, dumbass call that is completely pointless".... I re-muted myself and clapped. Hilarious

On a webex right now, guy just took his cell phone in to the can with him and took a leak, haha. Couple VP's and a GM on the phone, they laughed......... couldn't catch whose call in ID it was..........I will add we've been doing these calls as normal course of business for years and years, not just a covid thing..

I have none of these awesome stories on any of mine. We get the typical dog and child noises. But even the people that are not on mute, usually are just boring.

Talking on the phone with a gardener, barking dogs and AC/DC in the background is the new hip. I full on conduct legal interviews over the phone with hard rock playing in the background, nobody cares anymore lol.

This Thursday I am set to testify in a court hearing using MS Teams...and the main witness is a homeless guy. Yeah, that will be fun.

I've lived my life on conference calls for decades and for the life of me I have no idea why I need to see a video of the other person, or for that matter they need to see me?

I just dial in for voice only.

In my particular instance its often times to verify nobody is being coached on answers. Or im not coaching clients. They aren't coaching their clients etc.

I had a porno going on the tv in the background on one of mine. Had to call the guy and remind him to join. He was all flustered and jumped on before he realized that the remote was still on the couch. Thank god there weren't any women on the call. Dude would have been hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit that day. It was hardcore lmao. He is now and forever will be known as gag....

When we all went WFH in March, the whole Zoom video chats were all the rage for management. Well, that lasted about 2 weeks and now nobody does video anymore. It was pointless and most people spent time during the video chats changing their background image during the calls.
