Thought I'd share as some of you have kids and probably are wondering what to get them computer wise. I have a full desktop gaming setup, water cooled, 2080ti, blah blah... but I wanted something for when Im on the go. I also have a work laptop, a 16" macbook pro i9, basically a $5k laptop if you spec it out on apple.com... obviously I didnt pay for it. Its super ballin, but graphics wise... it only has a radeon 5500m, which ehhh isnt that best for playing games. Not to mention its a mac and theres few games specifically made to run on OSX... now I could bootcamp it and run windows, but again... work laptop. Enough nerd stuff I probably lost about 99% of you already...
I also didnt want to spend a ton of money... so I found this:
At the time I purchased it was $1099. But its a Ryzen 9 3.0ghz decent cpu, 16gb of ram, and best of all... a geforce 2060 video card. Which crammed into a little laptop that feels as solid as my $5k macbook pro is a GREAT deal for that price. If you have a kid that needs to do homework AND wants to play some games this is a hard guy to beat for the price. Its got some pretty good reviews as well. Again, it aint a top of the line laptop or gaming setup... but at the $1k price point its a LOT in a little package.
(careful looking on amazon theres a few out there for like $949 but they only have the ryzen 7 and 8gb of ram... basically an old/lower model)
