40 West closed, supposedly 3 cabins involved, MCSO deployed fire boat, another few engines on route as a hour ago. Hope no one got hurt.

Heard it started as a boat fire. Being late in the weekend, hopefully they were empty.

Other than what I heard about traffic slowing and actually stopping to see the fire not sure, seems like it would be far enough away from the road to not warrant stopping traffic, not sure how long they did it for either.

Why would mcso close 40? California side one, and az dps will close highway for a turtle collision .
MCSO did not close the 40, CHP did. it was on their blog, but I have no idea why because it was not that close to the road other than the lookie loo's causing traffic issue. Not sure. Just what I heard.

I've only been on the back side of those cabins a couple times, but it seems to me parking is really tight. I'd think a fire truck would have to setup one level higher on 66, and run hoses down possibly.

How many of the cabins were burnt? Any updated pics?

Man we were staying there for desert storm. Literally one of the best times I’ve had.

40 was never closed.

Unrelated car fire down the road, but the Pirates thing didn’t effect traffic whatsoever.

OK, Just asked a police dispatcher in the area, it was on the Bullhead City Police Scanner that it was closed, I saw that there was an accident that slowed things down but I doubted they would shut it down for any length or at all unless very serious, life flight, blocking highway etc, hmm very interesting.
