Just got a quote to polish my SS tandem fenders

$100-120 each

No damage, just very light scratches

Anybody have any input as to the cost? fair or excessive?

thanks

I’ve been told by two buddies that truck that you need to hit up the truck shops behind the gas stations. This guys will do every ounce of shiny on a semi for 3-400$ so fenders etc are cheap quick easy cash for them.

I asked Adrenaline about polishing a set. He said the metal is really hard, unlike aluminum, so it was a lot more work sanding scratches out and polishing them back out. You’re quote doesn’t seem out of line to me. Maybe it’s cost effective to remove them and take them to a metal polisher??

Thanks for the replies

I took the fenders off and tried my skills today

Must have ran my HF polisher for half the day, still going strong, god bless it!

Actually turned out very nice but couldn't quite get to that crisp mirror reflection

Got more time than money right now so it will do...

What steps did you use?

Had to use 220-600-1000 grit sand paper with a sponge type block

Then CG heavy and lite polish on red 8" pads

Tried polish alone but would not cut it

A lot of lite scratches I didn't notice till cleaned them up

I had one of those white fabric looking polishing pads but it was too small and HF didn't have the larger ones

My have worked better but I just used what I had in the garage
