I am only asking you to select from one of the two major candidates or other.

It is not my intention to turn this into a debate or to piss people off. If the thread heads off in that direction, I hope it dies a quick and sudden death. The last thing I want is to have a bunch of name calling in here.

This is a "blind" poll.

When I am not thrilled about either candidate, I tend to vote with my pocket book. So I will vote Republican.

Lets see, vote for my job or my interests? I don't claim any affiliation with any political party. I get tired of hearing people vote for someone simply because they are either Republican or Democrat.

Funny to because we vote...but it DOES NOT elect the president.

Obama will make 4 years of GREAT speaches. Get a ton of folks on his side, fantastic character of office held. Very well spoken, etc. He will be popular and pretty much already is.

And will accomplish absolutly NOTHING.

Just like Villaraigosa. Nothing accomplished.

At least McCain will purchase shit. LOL.;)

I am looking at taxes and the potential recession. With Obama they are going to repeal the tax cut that Bush gave us. The people that is hurts most...$75,000 per year. They will be paying $5,500 per year more per year and thats just a start. The cut to Capital Gains will be repealed which will sink us further into recession. Just think is someone going top want to see their house if they are going to have to give 40% of their profits to the government? I know I sure wont. I know everyone here works hard for their money and I don't know about you but I want to keep as much of it as I can.

As far as the war I want out as much as anyone but it is what it is and we have to do what is right to preserve our nations safety now and in the future. Just my .02

For the people voting their "pocketbook", where do you suppose that $1B a day to fight the war comes from? Just curious.

From the taxes we already pay. Sorry, I am not for raising taxes any highger than they already are.

If you would have listed a Republican in that poll, I would have picked him. (I did vote McCain) As it is, we essentially have a Democrat and a Socialist running. We really do deserve better.

McCain seems just way to preoccupied with the war and "finishing"

Oboma just wants to turn the US into 1984. No thanks.

I am not asking for opinions, just votes in the poll. I don't want this to turn into the old PR forums on Not Boat.

Thank you!

What fun is that? BTW isn't voting in a poll asking for someones opinion. Don't think I was confrontational at all either.

You're fine.

All votes are hidden. No one can tell how each other voted. I am quite sure the Mods here don't want the nightmare we all saw in HB's PR section.

PhotoChick,

I'm completely and equally disgusted with both of the candidates, both want to obliterate our bill of rights and the constitution, remove our rights protecting against illegal search and seizure and due process in the name of 'saftey from terrorists' give me a focking break. They want to reinterperet all the laws to give us that warm and fuzzy george orwellian 1984 feeling.

Let me ask you all a question, what kind of mind set did Benjiman Franklin, one of the founding fathers and drafters of the constitution have when he made this statement:

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. "

Certainly not the mindset that the vast majority of our current politicians have, especially the 2 front runners for the presidency. That statement stands alone as probably the most profound and simple description of how freedom should exist our country, and it has been trampled beyond all means. I guess American society deserves no Liberty or Saftey after all.

We have no more 'Essential Liberties' left, no anonymity, no right to privacy, and freedom of speech is being squeezed day by day.

Every single one of the founding fathers would be DISGUSTED with the current grip that government has over society.

Best thing that can happen... McCain picks a great running mate, then has a heart attack shortly after taking office.

365 views and less than 70 votes.

In fact, I had to think about it, looked at it several times before voting.
No way I am going Obama, but had to think it through before actually clicking on Mccain. Don't be too harsh on everyone. :thumbsup

When it comes to actually clicking, it isn't automatic.
Very provocative thread! Can a person actually make the decision?

I will vote McCain. Not pleased about it but I don't see a porkchop like Reagan on the ballot. I think that was the last guy I voted for where I didn't have to hold my nose.

Easily one of the best Presidents we have had...and when he was elected who knew.

Nothing close sense I agree. I just don't want to be taxed out my ass to help the Lazy. I fear that's where were headed.

I voted McCain. For no other reason than he actually wants to do something that has a chance at helping the gas situation. Granted, probably not the ultimate fix but could at least help. Maybe give some competition to the damn rag tops! (lol)

And plus, there is something about Obama (not his race) that doesnt make me want to believe him. Like hes going to do something 100% opposite of what hes saying hes gonna do.

Granted McCain is rather old and MAY die in office but shit if I had to have an old guy in office Id rather have a guy that has a war record like him!

McCain wants to lift the ban on oil drilling and Obama continues to oppose it, this could move a lot of votes McCain's way, especially when gas gets over 5.00 a gallon. Now as far as voting, I can't find one thing I like about Obama.
