we’re going to have a great winter with all the rallying!

we need to plan an overnight trip to the Yacht Club in Quartzite!

great bar, band, steak and they have rooms....
You know I’m in. Can’t wait for it to cool down a bit. We were out last weekend. My youngest took the dirt car for a spin. I didn’t bother. Too damn hot.

That’s part of the AZ peace trail we did last October and it’s an easy Saturday/Sunday trip Down and back!

I was in the same bote last October when we bought out X3 XRC RR. I would say either a XP4 Velocity S or a 2 seat X3. The X3 Max is really long and the breakover angle is terrible unless u get it on at least 35”s. Ultimately the rebate on the X3 was too much to ignore and we went that route OTD with a full windshield and 5yr warranty for ~$28k versus the ~$30k for a XP4 Velocity S with no windshield or warranty. $5k was a pretty decent build difference so we chose a fully built 2 seater over a bone stock 4 seater...to each their own!

^^^ I thought the seating position in the XP 4 was better than the Turbo S. If they come out with a 72" version of the car I think it will supplant the Turbo S. I still thought the X3 was much more comfortable that either RZR though. The room in the rear of the Turbo S was also very limited. My wife is only 5' and she felt cramped sitting back there with the drivers seat slid back to where I would need it. The X3 was much better in that regard as well.

I don’t think you can go wrong either way.
Nice choice.

I’m 6’3 and found lowering the front seats on my Polaris XP/Turbo S (non ProXP ) gave more rear legroom and is much more comfortable for me.

Can Am released a sneak pic video of the 21 X3 this morning. Looks like a new gauge cluster and a couple of new switches on the dash. Hard to decipher anything else. The release is supposed to be June 30th at 7:00 PM EST. With the number we got for the 20 that we want, plus probable 4th of July rebates according to the GM, I don't see us going with a 21 unless it's a major change.

Only difference on the 21's, other than colors, is they have a live valve suspension version for 2K more. Kind of weird that they are producing two versions of the same care with the live valve being the only difference. I will stick with the 2020 and have Shock Therapy do the IQS system when they do my suspension.

That change makes sense as they were a little behind Polaris in that suspension aspect, but just did quite a few “mid cycle” upgrades last year for the 2020 RR.

I find it kind of odd that the Smart Shox are only available on the RS model, not the MR or the RC.

Brand new out of the crate. Time for some aftermarket add on’s. Taking the wheels and tires off if anyone is interested before they go for sale on Craigslist.

Robby Gordon leaked that the new Polaris will have a larger than 1L engine a few weeks ago and I've been waiting to see what they come out with. He said the Speed car will still have more power stock at 230HP.

This 2.0 engine with a turbo could be incredible! The 2.0 NA, does not excite me too much to be honest. Without major work, it will only make another 10-15 HP. It will probably have torque like a stock turbo car though.

How wide will you be once you put the new rims and tires on? And what is the overall length?

I am currently purchasing a toy hauler and I want to be able to fit something similar in the garage portion. I want to have at least 14’ if not more.

4 seaters are going to ride better.

I have a built can am with a bench in the back so it can hold two adults or 3 kids across the back.

If you want one that is done proven and low miles let me know! I’ll sell it for a lot less than I have into it!

Has virtually everything you can ask for from the gps to the heated seats etc.

Dave, why are you considering selling your car?
I was looking at it at the sand water and rv show out here and this is pretty much exactly what I am wanting to do.

Daves car is bad ass and has all the bells and whistle! It’s a really good deal at his asking price.

I have more than that into my car And I don’t have all the fab work / cage Stuff/ roof rack.

72” car but the new wheels and tires should shrink the width a little. Skinnier tires on skinnier wheels and the offset is 5-0. I would have to throw a tape on the length, but it’s about 14’ I believe.

the stock car is 72inch wide adding a 5/2 wheel will add 2+2 inches = 4 inches to the width so a total of 76inch plus any tire bulge
165 inch is 13’ 9 inch

yes his car is bad ass. With 3 kids the back seat is perfect. If I wasn’t saving for a wedding and honeymoon right now I would be all over this.

His windshield, seats and seat heater would be enough to sell me.

A couple new pics: Shock Therapy radius rods with a TMW double shear plate. The upper and lower radius rods are captured in the plate which means they have to all go on at the same time. Major PITA to install. Had to get creative with some fishing line to hold the bolts while I used a rubber mallet to pound the assembly on.

Waiting on a Shock Therapy TLS kit so I can drill the hubs and put it all together. Next is radios, cage, lights and a few more things. Coming along though...

Awesome progress so far.

If you are going with Rugged for the radios I have a brand new in package radio and intercom mount for your Can Am.

Thanks. I already bought a PCI and the mount. Bulkhead double shear, shock tower, front bumper and radios are all next on the list. The list keeps getting bigger though. Lol...

Cool.

Yea the Can Ams need all that stuff, but they are solid after that. Better to do it now while the car is clean, straight and new!

That's the plan. I have only driven into and out of the trailer. It won't get any miles (other than to settle the suspension for alignment of the toe and camber) until everything is done. Will probably be a couple more months until it's totally done (for this season).

Yeah, I was thinking about powder coating the beadlock rings, but I think I am going to leave them alone.
Leave them raw. They will just get gouged and scratched off if powder coated.

I’m going to do raw wheels on the Speed car as well. The entire face of the wheel is the bead lock ring though.

It’s a rabbit hole for sure. We’ve only been off roading for a couple years. Wife and i enjoy it every bit as much as boating. It’s awesome to have something to look forward to when the boat gets “put away” in November

Yep, we enjoy the offseason more than summer. Have a tricked out Rubicon in Havasu that we have been wheeling with the past few years, but wanted a new side x side (sold the old one we had). This fall / winter should be a good time out there.

Looking to get something for the off-road season this year. We’re not gonna rent the house out to snowbirds like we were planning this winter so plan on spending more time up there.

We stopped renting to our snowbirds a few years ago. So nice having the house all year long and not having to put personal stuff away.

TMW battery kit with a PC1200. Better than the motorcycle battery it came with.

We have considered the same, as we are out here a bit more in the winter before and after the snowbirds.

Our's were with us for a long time. Health problems caught up with them, and we were ready to stop renting anyways.

Radius rods done, toe and camber set. Had to notch the ends of the toe Links because they were hitting the trailing arms at full extension. The TLS kit from Shock Therapy moved the arms rearward from the hub

about a 1/2”, so that was most likely the issue with clearance. At least it’s done. Bulkhead, Shock tower and radios next.

That looks purdy!
Those rods are beefy and look really good!

did you add the dbl shear kit? For the middle rod, they say it can wallow out the alumi hub
