In all my years of boating, I've always left the buffing and polishing up to the pros. Well, now that I'm in South Florida, I'm left with shoddy work at ridiculous prices. So, to do it right, I had to do it myself. The deck was fairly oxidized and chalky. Came out pretty good. Used Presta Ultra cutting creme on the oxidized areas, followed by Presta ultra polish over the whole boat, then hand waxed with their marine UV creme wax. Used a dewalt buffer. Not too bad for a 15 year old boat with 400+ hours!

Haha well I sweated my ass off and it took about 5 hours, so 1/2 way through I wanted to say F This! But I do feel a little more accomplished and it was done right. I paid $450 for a detailer to do a half ass job and it was oxidized again a month later...

You guys out west are lucky you have so many good detailers. All of them out here just want to detail yachts for $$$ so for my little boat, they charge out the ass.
