Volkswagen and "tow vehicle" just don't go together... what do you think that trailer weighs??

Just because the tow rating is there, Doesn't mean you should use all of it..
My truck say's 9K on the hitch, my 7500lb. Baja said otherwise....As much as I would ever want back there and still feel like in a bad spot I would be the controlling vehicle.

How dare you!!!

LOF will be along shortly to tell you those numbers are written on the back of the stone tablets god gave to Moses and cannot be refuted!

Blasphemy I tell ya. Pure blasphemy.

👎👎

Although I'm pretty sure that Porsche driver now agrees with you. 😉

Its trailer sway that flips cars over. My dad learned that as well...the hard way. His 98 Durango did not fair like that Porsche.

What's crazy is that even a bumper pull hitch keeps the trailer attached in a rollover, but yet an Anderson "ultimate" 5'er hitch can't handle a panic stop without sheering the ball and letting the trailer fly. Anderson hitch owners will defend it to the grave, but those damn hitches are scary as shit.

I'd bet it was operator error. Happens...... Those Porsche/Audi SUV platforms are crazy powerful and built well. I bet if you chained them up the Porsche would pull an f150 down the street. You see them all over Europe with this little pig dick looking hitch receiver pulling campers all over Germany & Austria.

Rated to 7,700lbs and mine handled 5k with ease.

I agree.

Too-little tongue weight, or too much evasive maneuvering, are my guesses.

And that has what to do with this thread? 😂

For those without a lot of towing experience, the problem here is a short wheel base vehicle trying to pull a substantial amount of weight.

Was that car rated to tow that weight?

Probably.

Was it safe to pull that trailer/weight?

Clearly the picture answers that question.

Short wheel base vehicles are totally unsafe pulling a big load. Regardless of what the manufacturer says it can tow. 🙄

I have a Cayenne but will tow a pair of jet skis at the most... and only 6 miles to the lake. Great vehicle but that is too much trailer

thats an early model cayenne too
