I'm using 3 Red Horse an fitings on my Imco Supervalve. Got a intermitted leak on 1 fitting on the #2 tank out side.

Been running it since last season with no leaks.... several hours problem free

Suddenly, I run for hours.. no leaks. Turn off, start later, gotta slight leak (enough)

Slightly loosen and retighten and the "no leak for hours - then leak" happens all over again.

Run it at home on the hose.. can't reproduce it, no leaks

I removed the fitting and inspected the sealing surfaces with a magnifying glass... looks normal, no burrs or rough marks

Out of cauthion i'm gonna try a complete new fitting as opposed to just removing and resealing.

The initial install I used spermatex thread sealer

Whats the opinion regarding teflon or thread sealer? (always heard teflon on fuel not a good idea)

Wait 24 hrs to run if I use thread seaaler?

What type of fittings are they that you are sealing?

Not sure if the paint might cause an issue.

I use Rector Seal #5 that can be bought at the hardware store for pipe threads, carefully making sure not of it goes past the threads. Been using it for many years, even on cylinder head bolts and studs that go into the water jackets.
