So why dont "WE THE PEOPLE" actually try to do something about this? How about calling or writing the people in charge of writing this bill and saying NO!
I'm sure your either on facebook, Instagram or some other social mast media sites, go and spread the news to call or write and say NO helmet law!!! It doesn't matter what state your in, we all need to come together NOW as one people!
This is cute you really think they care what we want

So wait, if you are driving your pickup truck in the dunes are you required to wear a helmet? it satisfies the criteria right? and if not what if you have a buggy that is registered primarly for the street in AZ?

I don't really give a shit, CA is dead to me anyway 🤣

If someone would argue what the difference is between a sand rail and a car off-road is valid. If you must wear a helmet in a sand car off-road than you could make the argument that you should have to wear a helmet off-road in a street legal car. The sand-rail is actually safer structurally than a street legal car. Are you going to require jeepers/trucks etc.... to carry a helmet around in case they want to head up a fire road? Where does the line in the sand end?
It says for vehicles designed primarily for off road use, I think Jeeps and trucks are safe from this.

You can't trust what any politician says.
Agreed.
But that’s the wordage o read in that bill above and what I would be showing anyone trying to cite me for driving my truck off the highway.

I didn’t see any definition of “helmet”. I suppose if they don’t define it, you could have a fun with that.

MX helmets in kids under 4 or 5 can cause more damage to the neck and spine than they are worth.

So you put one on when loading and unloading your machine?

Does the government removing your right to chose to wear one or not bother you?
To be clear no I do not wear a helmet to load or unload. The government telling me what I can or can’t do would bother me yes. I was just simply stating I don’t mind having to wear a helmet.

People have been written tickets for loading or cruising around their camp without a helmet is the reason I ask.

Let me ask a hypothetical question. Say a family goes out to Cal City over the Thanksgiving holiday like so many families do. Their kid gets into an accident on an OHV and cracks his head open on a rock. He's rushed to the ER, but come to find out no one in his family has any kind of health insurance whatsoever. Who pays for it in California?

Serious question, I don't know the answer.

I think youd be OK as your Jeep would be road registered.
The proposal doesn't talk about the registry. It only speaks of the intended design. Last I checked a 4WD Vehicle was designed for off-road applications, lol. The problem is this leaves the interpretation up to law enforcement. It's as clear as mud!

I understand, but a jeeps main purpose is road use. If it has a street registration tag on it, you don’t have to wear a helmet.

If you have some tube chassis jeep that can’t be registered for road use.. yea you’d probably need a helmet

Mountain people might argue that 4WD is for driving in the snow. 🤷‍♂️

If they really cared about saving lives we would force us to wear helmets when driving on the street too. It's a privilege, not a right!

Made it better for my family. Now they get to see most of the places I love riding my motorcycle.
Be that as it may, side by sides have increased accessibility and visitation to areas that many of us go because there isn't much accessibility and visitation. With that increased visitation comes increased regulation.

Besides, folks like you are largely the exception. My ire is directed more toward those obnoxious clowns who think they are big bad ass offroad and party types. The ones who otherwise couldn't afford to obtain and operate nor have the skills to maintain/drive a real offroad car. The side by sides have now enabled every dirtbag who can sign on a dotted line to head on out and screw things up for the rest of us.

Now we have to go further out to get away from them, but the regulations still follow. Yay.

You do understand somewhere there is a person on a horse saying the same thing about a hiker . A hiker saying it about a person on a bike . A person on a bike running his month about a guy on a motorcycle and on and on. Maybe everybody should lighten up and just be happy people are outside enjoying freedom .

With the never ending stream of restrictions, is it really freedom though?

At least I let my opinion be known today! What did you do? We can all sit behind a computer and type away while bitching as we lose our freedoms slowly. But if you haven't noticed, we are losing our freedoms more quickly by the months here lately. So why you go and make a smart ass remark, you could have tried to do something that makes a difference!

We do. And his poor family would likely have to BK.

Look at it this way, there are fewer people to rest their drinks on your car that far out there.

I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to wear a helmet while flying along in the desert/dunes. The human skull can only take a certain amount of contact before things go bad.
Mostly because I couldn’t fit in my car with a helmet on.

Also I have over $1k in headsets which would need to be replaced.

Can’t fit in car with a helmet on might want a taller cage. Belts stretch and head will hit roll cage if it’s that tight.

Rent free in your head.

Isn't that the line you like to use?

The technical term would be sarcasm with a side of irony.

It seems that UTV owners, sweaty boat guests getting sweat on your boat, and thirsty people resting their drink on your stuff live in your head since you keep blaming them because you can’t enjoy yoreself.

Maybe it’s you, not them?

You need to have 3-4 inches of head clearance between head and cage for seat belt harness stretch in rollover.

If wearing a helmet and your head hits with it on I doubt there’s 3-4 inches clearance in your cage

Sure the sleek cages look better but possibly at cost of safety.I doubt you have the same belts and seats as a true race car or driving with belts as tight as you think. But do as you do.

I have 3-4” now but with a helmet I won’t. did you skip 3rd grade geometry?

I’m in a car, you can’t just bolt on a bigger cage, it’s a fab job strip the car and powder coat. Not to mention the cost of helmets and new head sets.

But by all means, please keep expressing your points of ignorance. I love it when people double down on stupid.

Well, you appear to be the one quoting my posts and interjecting into conversations that don't involve you, so maybe it's you and not me? It's okay, brother. I just hope this strange obsession doesn't cause you too many marital problems...

What helmet is 3” thick? You’d need a side port for air for sure though.

If metal is 3” from your bare dome, you could get a serious injury from a minor incident is his point.

Are you going to cut you car up to address that? Probably not. But it sounds like CA laws are going to force you to wear a helmet sooner or later.

I gave you some time to finish your edits before responding. Got to give ol' quick wits the opportunity to come back and add in what he didn't think of before he hit the "submit" button.

Dragging your family into this? Drama much? I didn't know you took your iPhone 4 that seriously.

If you get hurt so easily, maybe it's time you realize there are certain people here that you should probably just leave alone.

Why you get off on irritating others is really weird.

You argue like a woman.
Lol your the one that had to toss the insults. Instead why don’t you explain why headspace is not important. What can you do to make it work etc?

Maybe provide some facts instead of childish comebacks. Enjoy your day 🍺
