I had a job open for an entry level IT tech, and narrowed it down to two solid candidates.

Candidate A:
Computer Science major, scheduled to graduate in 09.
Very personable, which is on top of the things I look for in a tech.
But, I got a vibe that he was looking for the job to work for him and not work for the job.

Candidate B:
Social Science major, scheduled to graduate in 08.
Also personable, with tons of extra circular activities.
But, didn't know as much as far as tech support goes.

I seriously bounced back and forth on the decision for a few days, and couldn't decide. So, I hired the hot chick.

Sounds like you spent too much time looking into the qualifications, should have just gone with chick!!!:lamo

I told him that since T or A was no where on his resume, I couldn't offer him the position.

This reminds me of the 40 Yr Old Virgin hiring decision...

Hopefully you like rolling up your sleeves and working cause if you hired someone who cannot perform the job, you will be doing that...:)

I tend to hire the candidate I think I am going to work for someday...that way I can work less..:)
