Looking for advice on for a prop on my 29’ Nordic Escape. Has Ilmor 625, Teague platinum drive, IMCO extension and IMCO hydraulic steering. It is a twin step hull. Boat does high 70s with 26p Bravo 1 prop, but hits rev limiter at 6k. Would like to get a bit more speed and be able to trim it out a bit more without hitting the rev limiter. Wondering if 28p Bravo or other prop would be recommended? Appreciate any thoughts.

How does it come on plane now? Are you running that mph with a load, normal day of boating? Or is that in cooler weather light load?

No issues getting on plane. No air pockets or anything. Low mid 70s with a load. 80 or a bit more empty and now cover on.

Try a 28 and a labbed 30 if you can find someone to borrow them from. I bet you can spin a labbed 30 and still get on plane fairly easy.

I'd start with a 28 and have it labbed if it's too much.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Sounds like 28p. What are the issues you run into if you have too much prop? Thanks again.

Issues with too much prop is hard to plane, and cannot pull to redline.

Where do you boat? I have a 28 Bravo you’re welcome to borrow but I’m in Fort Mohave/Needles.

Makes sense, thanks. And thanks for the offer. But unfortunately (for many reasons!) I am in Illinois.

Appreciate that as well. Guess I should mention that I sadly just put the boat away for the season. Already planning for next season. I’m on Fox Lake just outside of Chicago.

With a double step I would go close to a 30p with your power. I’m spinning a 28 on a boat close to your size without the power you have.

I have a heat with 600sci stage II which is slightly lighter that’s the escape. I suggest a Max5 29p. They are a labbed prop too.
