Prop for Yamaha 115 FourStroke

I have a 22' pontoon with Yamaha 115 FourStroke outboard. It has a 13 5/8" x 15 Stainless prop. At wide open throttle it turns right at 5000rpm. I read this motor could be turning 6000 at the high end. I usually pull a tube or kneeboard and would like a little more top end. My local prop guy told me to go up to a 14" x 17 pitch prop. Will that drop my RPM?

You need to go down in pitch not up. Your probably not going to pick up any speed but low and mid range will be better.
