I have a 29' Lavey with a 500efi and IMCO SCX extreme outdrive. Current prop is a Bravo I 26P but the motor will only pull it to 4800rpm's. I had the prop checked and its in spec at 26P with no damage or changes. The motor was checked out as well and has no issues other than the gas is from Sept which I am trying to run down but there was 150 gallons of it. If I over trim, the motor pulls past 5k if that means anything.
I know this outdrive has higher slip numbers (I'm at about 20% now), so is the best route to have the 26 labbed for the extra 300rpm? OR switch to a 5 blade etc. that might help reduce the slip?
I have a 24P bravo I that I can try but I like the cruise speeds of the 26P and figure the 26P will be faster if I can get the extra 300rpm's from labbing.
Last question would be who is the go to for Labbing these days?
