I have a 22 Cole skier with a 330hp mercruiser Right now I have a 21 4 blade and I R out at 55 mph. Thinking a 22 bravo but I found a 21 high five. Which one do you think would be better. Wondering if the 5 would carry better but not sure if I would have enough hp. Thoughts anyone?

Are you trying to increase top speed? Hole shot? Mid range?

The 22 pitch would be better for top end and all around. The High 5 for skiing and pulling tubes. Been searching for a 22 4 blade merc prop.

Been busy working Hallet21 thanks for offer on the prop. Looking for the 4 blade 22 by Merc, 1 on CL right now out in the 909 but no time to roll out there.

Have you tried eBay I picked up a prop for like 250. Trophy plus 23". It's a 450-500 dollar prop new. Just an idea

Mine r's out at 4600.

I would probably keep the 21 4 for skiing and full load and the one I want would be a cruising/speed prop
People keep telling me I should be mid 60's with this boat

Have you tried a 23 mirage? That would give you more top end with a reduction on your holeshot. I also would say try a trophy plus probably 23 pitch as well.

And what is your redline? And how did you measure your speed? GPS? Speedo? Radar?

Redline is 4600 I use gps for speed. This boat doesn't like 3 blades. It acts funny in turns. I was told a revolution 4 23 was ideal but I haven't found one other than new.... Note I'm cheap!!!

I have a 22 super hawk with a 454 mag efi and it didn't like the 3 blade 23 pitch mirage. It did really like the lab finished 26 pitch merc 4 blade and ran out really nice and got 73 on GPS. I tried a 22 pitch merc 4 blade and the super hawk didn't like it. It was slow out of the hole and I couldn't get near the top speed I did with the 26 so I would try a 24 4 blade on your boat and see how the boat acts.

I believe that cutting edge propellers said that the lower numbered B1s specifically the 22 is not very efficient for what it's worth

i am just wondering if i could turn a 24 to 4600rpm...i was thinking if i got a 22 i could always tweek it up to a 23/24 (since i read bravo's are on the low side...maybe i'll look for a 24 also...

has anyone run a high five in a 22.5 skier? thoughts?

Still not sure what you are ultimately looking for but I can offer a few comments.

It is unlikely you will be in the mid 60 mph range with any combination of prop. I don't believe the HP is there.

If you are turning a 21" prop 4600 rpm you will not be able to spin a 24" prop 4600 rpm.

If you want more speed I would try a 3 blade in the 21" range, MAYBE a 23", but that will be a little doggy.

If you want better hole-shot and cruise a 4 blade in the 20-22" range. The Bravo 1 may not be the right prop, the Rev 4 may work a little better. If you can find them a Mach Sterndriver might work well.

The High 5 might work ok, but you will lose top speed.

Ultimate problem is you just have to try props and gaining access to them is the issue as it's not always convenient or cheap. Good luck.

i''m not sure i can spin a 24 to 4600. the 21 i have is a stern driver 4 blade and i am against the rev limiter. i do want to try a revolution 23 also...but everyone tells me my boat should run in the 60's so i'm just trying to figure where to start.

Start with a Revolution 21. They have a lot of rake and will carry the bow. I don't think 330 hp in your 22 will turn a 23p Revolution.
What diameter is the stern driver ?

It sounds to me like you are propped just right. It's better to be under propped then over propped. A lot of guys try to use the highest prop they can to get more speed, but you load up the boat with gas and beer and ice and people and it's really sluggish and puts a huge load on the engine, and it could break the crank or just wear out the engine early. Like starting from a stop sign with your truck, pulling your boat, and the tranny in overdrive....not good.

I think you are right where you want to be!

With a 23 pitch 3 blade you will see low sixties with light load depending hull. I have 454 mpi in a 22 ultra and it wont go over 63 with just me low fuel and full trim. I picked up the 22 4 blade I was looking for but have not had a chance to try it. Looking for more bottom and midrange than the 23p mirage.

With the 21sterndriver 4blade. I can pull skiers with full tanks and 8 people in boat. Runs good just like an all go prop for the big lakes when you boat to a destination
