I’m not sure what you mean my point is I have no state taxes taken from my pay check working in Nevada. Having the house in Havasu as a second home allows me not to pay any state tax to Arizona from my Nevada salary since it’s not considered my primary residents.

So if you live in Laughlin there are no stores to purchase food at you have travel to the BHC side to shop.

If you see a short guy, from a distance, with both his middle fingers up, don't squint, just assume it is me. :)

Perfect. Then I don't feel obligated to stop ..if you see a short fat white guy with finger out the window Wednesday, that would be me

You are a long ways off, and don't recall seeing you anyplace besides Havasu.

Besides at this point, "Unless otherwise specified".....I just assume all of river family is done with me.

Thanks for the invites buddy;):p:D

For gas and groceries, Bullhead has a lot better selection. Laughlins only grocery store is fair at best. On weekends, the bridge traffic is terrible. And then there's bike week. Total shitshow traffic wise.

Laughlin has smaller lots than Bullhead, easier to find a bit of land for boat/rv storage in BHC.

I launch at either sportsmans park (Riverside Casino), or Bullhead City Community Park. Parking can be challenging at either. Rotary park sucks for launching, but so does Lazy Harry's. If I'm down that way, I'll launch at Lazy Harry's or Rusty's Sunshine Marina. I only go out on lake Mohave once or twice a year. Princess cove, usually.

Laughlin might be better for retirement because of no state income tax, but property taxes might even it out with Bullhead City. Worth checking into.

And Bullhead is closed.

Hey .. thanks for the info ...my problem is money comes from a tax state , so that creates an issue with the no state income tax as my residents ...Etc etc ..
Until learn the river , I will probably go down to jack smith and launch for the day or few hours of boating.

Parker for my full weekend boating probably

For one, I'm not on FaceBook......
So go ahead and assume what you like. However, as I advise my wife, do not assume things cuz 99.5% of the time assumers are incorrect.

Nevada is closed, but for you Milky we will make an exception. You can make your monthly Nevada HOA of $100.00 payable to me. :D

Thats crazy! Where exactly is that in relation to something today?

We had a little trailer in the Wagon wheel trailer park. We knew the owners from being in another park, Sportmans, and when he opened WW we were the 4th ones in and 4th lot from the water. I haven't been to Bullhead in so long I had to google some pics for reference. I marked the point on the NV side that's in all 3 shots. My grandparents moved to Bullhead in '61, just after they stopped serving wild burro meat in the wild burro BBQ, yuk, and that's when we started to go to the river. All there was on the NV side was a very small Riverside Casino that Laughlin bought and we'd go there on (I think) Friday nights for chicken dinners. If it was late we'd take the car and go over the dam, there was no bridge yet.

This is how I remember what would become Laughlin. Our outboard flattie on the inside of the dock and across the river, soon to be Laughlin. No date on the pic, my aunt just gave to me a few weeks ago, but it had to be '62 ish because I see the crib on the dock for my youngest cousin. Also the fish cleaning table with a hand pump to clean the trout after gutting.

Its amazing to me to see the homes like the one SCV2RVR posted and what happened to our little slice of paradise. ( I sound like my grandpa)
I can vividly remember my dad and uncle sitting on the bluff above the dock and wondering why Don Laughlin was buying all that property across the river. lol

Good luck Milky.

If I had to take a guess the area where that picture was taken is where Harrah's was built. Pretty cool to see old pictures like that, if you have more please share.

Edit: saw your other post with the pictures of Harrah's

Wife is eyeing property in Mesquite Nv and no state income tax will net us an additional $30 K a year.
That's a big drink of water, especially when retired. Vehicle registrations don't even dent that.
The tax break alone is worth the most consideration.

Still close to all the things we like to do and you too.
We'll get acreage so she can adopt burros and raise those pigs the size of Volkswagens, border collies, working cats the size of dogs, and a deep garage with several 16ft roll up doors.

I am trying to figure out if I want to live in Laughlin or bullhead/ mohave valley area .
My boat already has AZ numbers
Nevada has no state income tax and registration is higher there on vehicles, I know the boat is probably a wash on registration fees ...

I might work in Arizona.....I will rent a place to get started , so property tax wont be a factor, at this point . Rent seems to be pretty much the same for both sides.....

Ok opinions and real life experience needed and of course the assclown comments are welcomed ...

Have you seen the desert cows? They’re a bit thin:D

Wish I could help out with the serious business but I lived in Havasu not up north.

Are you retiring from the milk business?

What are you looking for Dave? House, Condo/Townhouse, Mobile, big lot, small lot, on the river, view, up in the hills....

If you take away the casinos there isn't a lot going on in Laughlin so pretty much most of your shopping is going to be done in Bullhead. However, Laughlin does have somewhat of a Mall that has a Boot Barn, some other clothing stores, bath type stores and a Family Dollar store. I have driven by Aldape's Market but I have never been in it so I don't know if they are like a traditional market or more like a Family Dollar store. Laughlin does have some cool parks though. Big Bend is a cool area to launch your boat or just hang out, while Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trails is a cool place to go hiking, riding bikes, riding horses and go fishing. Spirit Mountain Activity Center is a community center that has tennis courts, basketball courts, a skate park and a senior center 50+ with all kinds of activities that involve cougar chasing. They also have the Laughlin water park (pool) if you want to swim some laps. If you're into rack storage or slips you will dig Laughlin Bay Marina/Lagoon.

I dont have the exact answer yet. I am going to rent something and then figure out excatly where I want to be permanent. I dont mind being on the Nevada side . I like the no income tax part of that state ...lived there ( Vegas) for 11 years ....

Now Jerry, let's settle down on the activities part. I just like to go boating ...lol ......

Here is my biggest problem, it is just me and nobody else to consider , so I can go or live anywhere I want ...which makes the decision even more difficult...

I will head down Monday, truck is all packed ....

Thanks for you input and everybody else

Only one pointer on each hand, so only a couple places. :)

In place of facts, have to make educated guesses.
