For all the business owners on RDP, if your payment gateway, browser, Point of Sale system or stand alone credit card terminal running over IP (internet) is not SHA-2 compliant by December 31st 2016 you WILL NOT be able process credit card transactions. What does that mean to you? If you use a virtual terminal (authorize.net, usa epay etc) check to see if your browser is up to date. If you use a POS, contact the manufacturer or reseller to make sure your version meets SHA-2 Compliance (may need an update) be prepared to pay. If you use a stand alone terminal and processes over the Internet (plugged into a router and not the phone line) your terminal must meet SHA-2 requirements.
If you your terminal can accept EMV transactions, there is a 99% chance you will meet the requirements. Check with your processors' terminal support to make sure. I have been working for a large credit card processor for over a decade and this is a big deal. This will impact A LOT of business owners.
