Rumor is that one of the boats made a hard left turn and another boat ran over that boat. Sad deal.
I'm sure there will be an investigation as to if the boat that made the hard left turn had a mechanical breakdown or not.
Walt said it was the #29
Greg Belda
This is a real tragedy. I did not know the man but I'm sure Walt must know him
Yes it was apparently Greg Belda

Heard and saw, happened real quickly. Was looking at clock timer to see when they turn on and at first turn, not going fast at all, heard the thud and saw one boat go down. Then after 20 or so seconds later the announcement we don't want to hear, drivers take a walk, most of us were in disbelief. Very sad news to hear the outcome later on. RIP and prayers to the families involved.
[/QUOTE]We heard the ann0ouncement but didnt know what that meant. We assumed was a drivers meeting to let everyone know about the delay.

'Drivers take a walk' is announced when there is any injury heavy enough that the driver is going into the ambulance on a stretcher. They want the other participants to line up along side the ramp to help with crowd control. Most often it doesn't mean a fatality, just that someone is hurt seriously enough that they need be transported as soon as the safety crew hits the shore.
