time to freshen up the boys 2005 PW. Since it’s too hot for racing I figure now is a good time to make some mods to the bike so he can finish his last few months of the 5 year old PW class in style.

Starting with the frame!

Special delivery from Europe! Custom rear PW50 shocks with giant reservoirs. They have threaded bodies so the rebound is adjustable.

These are imported, but not from CHINA! I was concerned the reservoirs were fake, but these bad boys check out ok, and are REAL!

Nice work thus far! While not a PW50, I used to build and race CRF50s and KLX110s. Typically the only thing left that was from the original bikes were the cases. Here is a CRF50 based build I did. Probably had $15-20K wrapped up into this thing.

wow!! I don’t think BBR offers the frame and swing arm for the 50 anymore!

Yea the PW is for my boy. I should have it back together in a week or two.

We put a wiesco forged piston, rings, and cylinder. PAX clutch springs, PAX primary gear absorber, and re-jetted the carb.

Also retrofitted the front suspension with 2017+ triple clamp and front forks. 2017+ Uses oil filled forks. Rear shocks were special from YSS. We used a full sealed ball bearing setup for the steering stem instead of the roller bearings.

Can’t wait to see how he does.

Sounds like you've got all the right pieces. Pax, that's a name I haven't heard in awhile. Don was always helpful when I needed parts. He built a motor or two for me back in the day as well.

Motors is done. New forged piston, new cylinder (50cc), new reeds, new clutch springs, cleaned out the exhaust. Time to put her back together.

Cool project, looks like fun. Has your rider helped in this refresh?
Hasn’t turned a wrench, but has gone to the powder coaters, and anodize shop. He also helps with the color choices!!

Thank you!! That would be cool if they did.

You could always go with one of those cheese ball shock looking things and adapt it to make it work.

Yeah, they suck. But it would be better than nothing at all.

Here, I even found ya a blue one! Lol

Not that I would recommend That particular one, but I just wanted you to get the idea. 😊
