Lost out 15 year old white female lab last November. It’s time to get some barking and shedding back in this bitch.

Adorable. Looking forward to the day that we can once again have a dog. The wife really needs one right now but our schedule does not permit it.

I think having one a little bit older is smart, they tend to learn from each other quicker!

It has just worked out that we have always rotated dogs. We use the older dog (Usually around 5-6 at the time) to teach the new pup the rules and use the new pup to keep the older dog active. Always worked for us.

That I truly agree with.
My Black Lab is well trained, and exceeds all my expectations as a guard dog... (meaning I assumed typical lab that loves everyone). But Nelly gets the job done as a guard dog. I plan on getting my next dog when Nelly hits about 6 years old... so 2 years from now.

Which gives Nelly 2 years in the prime of her life, to train the new future puppy....honestly, I hate the puppy stage... Ugggg...

We lost our elder Basset to cancer last August, and our Bailey was depressed, just lying around and gaining weight. So we got her a new playmate in January. She started life out pretty bad. She wouldn't eat, drink, would just shake when we got her home from the "breeder". Straight to the vet. She had a severe worm infestation. Ended up with intestinal intussusception, a condition where the intestine telescopes into itself. Found when we transferred her to a specialist in Phoenix. 10 days in 2 hospitals, 2 transfusions, major surgery, we were finally able to bring home a 4.8 lb, 10 week old baby Basset. We're lucky she even survived. What she went through was a lot for an 8 week old puppy. She now weighs about 16 lbs. I'm in contact with the owner of one of her brothers, who says her dog is 21 lbs. In any event, she is the love of our life and has made a complete recovery.

Picked up this 6 year old Chocolate from a shelter in Rancho Cucamonga in the middle of March. She's an absolute sweetheart and a great river dog.

Picked up the boy Riggs on Saturday. Unfortunately we found we lost the black female due to an infection at the exact same time I found out my good buddy Ryan Poe passed from a staff infection. His family owned a pet store and really showed me a lot about family and dogs. Ryan needed her more than me so I’m good with it.

Right before picking up the male Saturday I found a breeder right around the corner that had 1 dog available.

We pick up Roxy(er) II in 3 weeks.

Nice puppies..... Salt and Peppa

That's too funny, we have a couple kittens in the daylight basement and that's what we are calling them for now ... Two big dogs upstairs,so I was going to make them kibbles and bits.
