Heading out to Mead in 2 weeks and know the water is low this year...so in terms of condition of the ramp, parking, and wait times, etc, what is the best bet?

- Hemenway
- Boulder Harbor
- Calville Bay

Thx, appreciate any info.

Yep stay away from Temple Bar. Launch ramp is almost gone. Its windier, hotter, and ugly over there.

Since you’ve been told where not to go...

Boulder.
Is your best bet. Ramp is probably narrow and partially unpaved. But easy to get to and plenty of parking.

Hemingway
Has no angle on the ramp and requires most to bury their truck in the water to launch.

Calville
To far. Yes easy drive but more crowds and walking up/down that ramp sux

Temple.
It hotter and windier there. Someone said the people are uglier too.

So how is the Willow Beach Ramp on a weekend this time of year?

@H2O
Out of all three listed my favorite is callville, it sucks for retrieving at the end of the day a lot of newbies but if you sit back and wait it’s easy.
I launched out of Boulder about a month ago before they let more water out and the ramp was sketchy.
Hemingway sucks because of the wind.

either Boulder or callville for me.
Temple was nice but if I’m driving that far I’m going to needles.

what boat do you have?
If you see this 230 eagle(sancho) flag me down I’ll show you around.

From what i have seen on Lake Mead boaters FB page, Boulder Harbor is closed, Hemenway considerably low with narrow ramp, same with Callville. Haven't personally seen it this year myself though.

Willows ramp is really nice it’s steep. Water is freezing! And you can only go left right now. You can go left towards dam if you want a ticket.
rode down to the ramp sucks balls.

@81Sprint saw that they are extending the Boulder ramp with pipes or something?
A friend launched from Boulder yesterday.

Callville is the best ramp of the 3. I’m going Sunday. So we shall see.

Just saw this on the page- Boulder ramp has never been the problem, its getting out of the harbor, it gets super shallow. Someone posted they can damn near walk across the opening to the lake. But it is the best place to launch i think, they need to dredge it again

We launch at Boulder. If you have a smaller boat Hemmingway is fine. We used to Launch at Callville when we would camp for 5-7 days. They have a nice extended stay parking lot.

Went yesterday. Launched out of Caville. being that it’s the busiest ramp they take care of it the most I think.

They Had to extend the ramp but it seems now that it’s deeper. the water was just to the rear tire of my truck and boat was floating.

Was epic to say the least. Water was in the 70s.

@H2O the crowd wasn’t to bad but it was Mother’s Day so I don’t think a lot of people went.
It’s not to bad. The only issue you have is being able to offload the person to retrieve the truck. People tie to the dock. But I never have an issue. If someone’s tied to the dock and not with boat. I’ll drop her on the swim step she walks over boat. Gets in golf cart with old guy to the truck.
Don’t over think it man. It’s a great time! I spent the night last night and am eating at the marina now!
