Black cap on the greaseless ball came off, thought I'd stick it back on. Hope i didn't make a bad call. They don't appear to rotate. image.jpg

Looks like the lower portion is metal so it wont pop off. The plastic cap looks like the portion designed to eliminate the grease. Most likely just be a little more slop in the connection not actually able to pop off the ball. I have never seen a ball like that before.

I can't imagine any glue/epoxy holding the top piece on with the weight of the trailer and turning .
Good luck with that .

Will most likely work to get home, but I'd say it's time to buy a new hitch. Grease isn't such a bad thing.

Trailer should lock the lower half of the ball... Should be fine as-is.

Noticed on their (Anderson balls) website that they sell replacement caps that just press /snap on. Claims new ball caps are hard to get off, but with use they loosen up --- yup, yours did :D
Goop might adhere better than epoxy to that smooth chrome ?
