take the motor to an electric motor/generator/alternator/starter shop, it's gotta be DC, they can usually be rebuilt pretty cheap.

Thanks Racey I already did all those guys are asking 300.00 to rebuild when you can buy for175.00 was just hoping to throw some work at a rdper

We have found that most motors are cheaper to replace than rebuild if under 20HP.

The only exception is for some OEM special motors where they really hose you as you have to get from them. Just went through this on a Blower motor.:grumble:
