Not to be a vulture...but does stuff like that get auctioned off? I ask because that's a shit ton of outboard motors. After messing around with a customer's 350 Verados (just maintenance), I kind of like them...but damn, each motor costs more than both my boats

Yes, the insurance companies will buy total out/buy the boats from the owners after a shop prepares an estimate for them that will effectively total the boat. They will then send everything to auction just as if it were a car that got totalled out. Only difference is theres no such thing as a salvage title in the boating world.

Most of the rack storage facilities in Florida are Hurricane 4 or ever 5 category rated. Here's a couple quick snippets of Hurricane Matthew hitting the TNT barn in 2016. Couldn't even begin to calculate how many tens of millions or even hundreds of millions in boats are in there.

Took the wife and daughter out to the beach today (Newport / Balboa). Walked around a bit and saw this... Wife was like “What the... how do they stack them? Wouldn’t a forklift mess up the bottom? That’s kinda cool... isn’t it? Well I don’t know about leaving our boat outside like that though!”
