I recently bought a RZR for use in the off season at our river spot on the lower river. It has been a lot of fun exploring and realizing what these machines are capable of. Since I never plan on going to the dunes, I settled for the 900 4 EPS. I have been happy with its performance so far.

I wanted to find cool places to go to ride and discovered Rally on the Rocks in Moab Utah. It is a multi-day organized ride with guides. I've never been to Moab, so I figured it would be the best way to learn the area. It is in May and the kids are still in school and the wife refuses to go, so I'm taking a buddy as co-pilot/spotter.

This event is primarily for SXS's. If there are any other RDP'ers going, we should hook up.

I've never been, so if you have any advise, please educate me. Where to stay, essential tools/equipment, do they enforce street legal regulations, and anything else you think I need to know.

I was fortunate enough to cover the ROTR this year with utvunderground.com. You are in for a treat! Moab is some of the most unique scenery and riding I've ever been around. It is a HUGE event with tons of riding, events, and products for every taste. All of the group rides are escorted to the trail head, so there is no need for registration on those but just driving around town you will want to be registered. The cops are pretty cool but I wouldn't risk it. One thing I can tell you is that the riding will change your view of what your machine is capable of. Obstacles that are a high pucker factor on your first couple of rides quickly become no big deal as you learn to drive on the slick rock.

Here is a gallery of photos I did for UTVUG.

Enjoy!!

Been kicking the idea around.
We love Moab.
You'll experience capabilities of your Rzr no idea it had.

Don't go out by yourself, roll with a group.
if you have mechanical problems you'll need assistance getting off the trail.
It's bigger and more spread out than you may think.

We liked Pasta Jays:

A fun bar was Eddie McStiffs. One of the few, if any other, full liquor bars with the least blue restrictions.

Never been to Moab, so I figured this was the best way to do it. All rides are guided and there will be plenty of people there.

Been there a lot on SXS. Yes they for sure enforce the registration there. I would highly recommend you street legal your RZR. Very easy to do.

I'm a little overwhelmed at all the choices of trails. It looks like we do one organized trail ride per day. That means I get to pick a total of five rides. any suggestions on the trails that are must do trails. I'll have a RZR 4 900 with a solid skid pan. Don't mind challenging, but I don't want to break a lot of shit either. looking for scenic beauty and some fun obstacles.

I'd appreciate any advice.
