Any good? What goes wrong?

I liked my 2013 it had the 6 speed 3:55 plenty of power to tow 6,000lbs.New Rams, with the 5.7 Hemi V8, and 8 speed trans.

I've had a 2015 ram 1500 eco diesel and then now I have the 18 diesel. I put about 85k miles on the 1st one and have 30k on the 2nd one. Both 4x4
Both have been great trucks. The 18 is the Laramie and is super comfortable. I get worse mpg with the 18 then 15 for but average around 23 with mix use. I would buy another in a heart beat. Maybe the 5.7 this time. I don't need the diesel.
I also have a 17 f150 for my work truck. It's a mid range model with the 2.7. solid truck and I like the powerplant. I average around 22mpg. It's 2x4. The ram rides so much better and the seats are way more comfortable.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy either but I prefer the RAM. Even if was just for the seats.
Granted it's not fully apples to apples with the Laramie and an XLT but the 150 still well equiped and I nice truck.Good info, thank you.
Considering swapping out the 18 F150 while is still has some value with a Ram.

I’ve never heard anything bad about them.. actually on my short list for a daily
Straight hemi? Does it do the thing where it shuts off every time you stop?
They are really dealing on Rams right now too. Here in my AO, I've seen $10-12k off sticker on certain packages. All are at least $6k off I think?
I frik'n love that blue color! Just doesn't match a single thing I have to hook up to it.2022 Laramie ecodiesel with every option except air suspension. I freaking love this truck.
4 Link rear suspension with coils. Even my 2500 rides like a 1/2 ton. No rear leaf's until the 3500.Good info, thank you.

There are other dealers closer doing 3% Below invoice. Saving is less, but also less of a drive than LouisianaMark has “no haggle” $10-11k, off $57k MSRP trucks just on their website. And the flight is $198 so it has me thinking.
How big of a deal is the manifold leak?…. Seems like a high % on here have it, which would worry me.
Carli has a kit for the 1500 now. Looks pretty sweet. https://carlisuspension.com/ram-1500/
I was a chevy/ GM guy for years. Then decide to try Dodge Ram. I have owned two 1500 limited with the Hemi engine and have not looked back. Great value and the quality is outstanding. Look at the cost of a new GM/Chevy truck and compare to a new RAM. The deference is about 10k.
Not a big deal if under warranty. If not it’s about $1500 for both sides. How big of a deal is the manifold leak?…. Seems like a high % on here have it, which would worry me.

It is weird there are still manifold cracking issues. If they cracked out of warranty I guess the truck would get headers

When Daimler was in play the ZF Transmissions were sourced and they haven't changed much since. Those 8 spd's are solid. That is pretty much what I’m looking at. Was looking at GMCs, and a RAM will be about $8k cheaper.
Headers are preventative maintenance. The manifold bolts are small and when the manifold warps it pops the bolts. So then you have to extract them. PIA
The ZF 8 speed is very good. The shift dial takes some getting used to.When Daimler was in play the ZF Transmissions were sourced and they haven't changed much since. You should drive one if you haven't already.
My 18 has the 3.92. Ive never seen above 25mpg. It's strange.LOF, let me add what full-size truck gets over 30 miles a gallon at 70 miles an hour on the open road? The ram 1500 diesel is absolute credible. I have a standard tag and getting 500 miles while driving on the road is common if it has a 33 gallon tank even better.
I have a standard gear ratio 3.21 6000 and 7000 pounds all the time no issue but if you really tow all the time and go with a higher ratios.
the dealer would’ve order and have an inventory.
The limited’s are all gone other than maybe a four-wheel-drive if you can grab a Laramie.
I had a 2014, no issues....5.7 with 6 speed no issues.. 75K before I sold it. I just had a 2022 Limited 1500 with 8 speed 5.7... I only had it 6 months cause I had a 2500 on order....but I am sort of kicking myself.... It drove flawless; like a car, much improved ride of the 2014. Although I read the so called issues about the air ride.... I had never been in a better riding truck on freeways with the concrete cuts...it was literally like driving a lexus. Had plenty of power and with the 8 sp was able to get up to 19Mpg as long as I was not flogging it... That was the sort of mileage I got with the problematic eco diesel. Mine had the 3.21 or whatever gear ratio is near .2x... I did not order that truck just needed a truck so found it on the lot... But I was impressed for the short tows I did between Parker and Havasu... it towed the 8k boat without issue, had plenty of power and was not hunting around for the right gear.... I think the 8 and 10 speed trannies on these new trucks make up for the higher mileage gear ratios...New Rams, with the 5.7 Hemi V8, and 8 speed trans.

It's Uconnect but uses SiriusXM Guardian for the data service. You get four years free then pay. Thanks for the info so far.
Question for the RAM people -
On my Ford I have the Ford Pass app to lock and start the truck from a phone, which is free. I do use this a lot in the summer when getting the boat off the water.
RAM I know has a similar deal.. is that U connect or RAM connect and what is the cost, if any?
You may be lucky with that 3.0 Eco Diesel but there is a reason they were blowing them out at 9-10K off sticker while selling the hemi's for sticker... two words ...fuel pump. Those high pressure pumps detonate and take the fuel system with it... My gladiator eco diesel was great too for 9k miles 21-23mpg with 37's... until the fuel pump went... then it spent 250+ days out of the 507 days I owned it in the shop and they could never put humpty dumpty back together again after 3 different attempts... The day they cut me a 92K check for buy back, it was still in the shop.....I have a ram 2020 1500 diesel I wouldn’t trade it for anything. They stop making the diesels in January. You might want to look at that before you buy new. There’s very few left on the market. And deals.
FYI on the exhaust manifold, my dad had similar problem, had it machined flat, new gasket good to goI have a 2019 Ram Rebel 1500 4x4 Crew Cab. 1st year of new body style. The Crew cab is huge inside and the interior is top notch. Just rolled 50k miles. Have a exhaust manifold leak which the hemi is notorious for. Parts on back order. Other than that have had 0 problems. I would prefer the twin turbo v6 thats coming for more power and better fuel economy. I average 13.5mpg with the 5.7.
My 5.7 with 33s and a leveling kit saw a best of 29.7mpg average on the way to Havasu, that included the typical California traffic in the average. If my Speedo was calibrated for 33s I’m sure it would have been over 30.LOF, let me add what full-size truck gets over 30 miles a gallon at 70 miles an hour on the open road?
