Are leaking timing covers on Ram 2500’s normal? I’m thinking of buying a 2016 W/ 75k miles that is having a leaking cover fixed. Just wondered if this issue is common. I know some trucks have certain issues. Thoughts?

Mine leaks. Bolts are loose and I need to pull timing cover to get to them

Well, that sucks
Yep. Have to pull front end to pull harmonic balancer. Then I can tighten them up. New gasket also.

My bad the harmonic balancer is in the way. Only need to pull cover to replace gasket

Hate to buy a truck that has that issue arise often. What year is yours?

I just got mine back from the stealership for a leaking timing cover repair. 2017 2500 with 45k miles. Warranty job. Guess what... dropped it back off this morning. STILL LEAKS! They had it for 2 weeks. Managed to ding both driver and passenger door handles on the lift posts. What a joke.

15 ram here. Just got mine back for this repair. Front cover gasket, rear housing gasket, oil pan gasket, and cv filter replacement. 98000mi $1700. I hope it fixes the issue, love this truck otherwise. Last ram was 05 put 250k on it, intend to do the same on this one

From my resarch this happens often enough you would think Cummins would offer a fix and foot the bill:mad:
