Parler is being shut down by big tech. Google is making them find new servers within the next 24hrs. They won't be able to do this, its 300 servers. Its done as a company. No free speech on social media now!

inaccurate.

Google and Apple discontinued the ability for individuals to download the app
Amazon Web Services has cancelled the web hosting contract. All content will be erased and Parker will have to start over with a new hosting provider (most likely out of country)

Don't bury Parler! www.Parler.com

If Parler is taken down by Amazon Web Services it will be back up shortly. You can be sure

The CEO was just on Fox News and sounded pretty dire about Parlers future.
He is having a hard time finding another hosting provider. That said, the more dire he sounds, the bigger the lawsuit will be against AWS. We all know Parler removes posts that violate their terms of service, just takes them longer since they don’t force their own beliefs on members.
With thst said, the posts being shared online and triggered the actions by these other companies were from new users (accounts created since Tuesday), and Parler was blocked from doing additional analysis on those users by AWS. Might have a friend working the IT at a company :)

Only 300?

Many options outside Amazon. I'm honestly surprised (and disappointed) they didn't have a contingency for loss of server access.

Remember, the internet was invented as a decentralized communication system for distributing porn. Someone somewhere will host the Parler servers.

The way it sounds is all the other 800 pound gorilla’s in tech are denying access because they’re worried about their own access and/or platforms. Or at least that’s the way my simple mind understands it. 😔

This is REALLY bad what's happening . . . I agree 100% what @SkyDirtWaterguy above ^.
These tech/media giants have 'silenced' the President of the United States! READ THAT AGAIN.
It's so sickening to me what 'Social Mediaeval' has done to this country. Disgusting.
People have been so brainwashed and reliant on that garbage.... it's obviously 'mind-control' for lack of a better description.
This shit needs to stop and stop NOW. I have a FB page but, have NEVER posted, I use it to follow some 'community pages' as cheap entertainment.
I also have an 'Instadork' account, strictly for sharing my photography . . . but I don't even have 100 'followers', so it's gay and pointless.
I'm seriously thinking of deleting both those accounts, fuck that 'Freak-Looking' Kook 'Sucker-berg', and ALL those liberal dorks.
I hope Parler can pull it off . . . and I hope people can realize how much we've been manipulated before it's too late.

Rdp will not be starting a Parler account.. to the point I am considering withdrawing my accounts from other platforms as well (haven’t decided yet)

I personally am considering launching an actual platform for politics that is based upon the FIRST AMMENDMENT meaning people from any side would be allowed to share.

as far as rdp is concerned though I can’t think of any real positives of registering anymore communities or accounts on other platforms.. I often look back on our fb and IG accounts and wonder if there has been any true benefit from it or if it has just been a giant distraction and expense thst I could have better spent here.

note big tech shutting shit down left and right.. other than seo rdp is pretty impervious to the leftist whackos

So what you're saying is there may be 300 servers worth of data serving that nobody has to know about....?

lawsuit against AWS for what? its a private company that reserves the right to kick you off their platform for any reason. its in the terms of service when you create your account. sue away its just pissing in the wind. not to mention you really think parler has the balls to go after AMAZON? their pockets are infinite.

it doesnt matter where they host really, theres always a telecom or backbone that will sit higher than them.

Antitrust and Collusion. It can be argued that the major server companies (some of which have their own social media platforms) are colluding and conspiring together to muscle out the smaller company that is posing a threat to their influence and bottom lines.

Should they wish to go all the way, Parlor could take this to a friendly Supreme Court and get 2 birds stoned at once. It would be an uphill battle for sure though

sounds like you're accusing AWS of collusion?

I have just one question for you: do you think it's appropriate to allow a person to publicly threaten to blow up a company? where people work?

AWS has select T&C’s, one of them require AWS to provide failure of notice to meet those conditions and resolve those within an appropriate timeframe. No notice was given and AWS cancelled. AWS has bigger pockets, but a case could be made.

Who needs any of the FB, Twatter, Parler shit anyway?... We have RDP! Fuck the big corporations if they don't like it. It's going to be hell to pay when they get fucked in court for shutting down our first ammendment rights.
Personally I'm with RD, I'm getting an extra hard drive, saving my photos and deleting the facepage /other social media accounts forever. If enough people do the same, Facebook will go bankrupt.

people say dumb shit online all the time and everywhere. I am personally not for it, but would argue that people should be allowed to do it..

my main reason for clamping down on the P&G section on here though is members are starting to try and dox each other personally and a few were gearing up for a fight.. I and others are moderating that and adjusting for it as it goes on.. some people will get removed..

We won’t remove the platform because of a person though

FB is world wide.. if all of America left it would put a dent but they’d still print more money in a day than I will Ever make

Does anybody?? Honestly what kind of question is that. The world is full of people blowing off steam and making empty threats of all kinds all the time. Im not saying that the threat you speak of was empty or not as the life of the individual making that threat would have to be dissected to determine the credibility of the words coming through that particular keyboard.

What I am saying is it sounds like a really convenient excuse to use to shut down a conservative forum that directly competes with and challenges their agenda. If AWS really stood by these convictions, then where the hell were they when there were mass riots, cities burning down, and all kinds of threats being made against small businesses and their owners all last summer??

Food for thought

Yup! And where are the resignations from Maxine Watters, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Cunt face Occosio Cortez,... Etc... For inciting violence live on TV for the last two years.

That is the EXACT same principal used to try to take away gun rights when there is a mass shooting..... blame the gun not the shooter is the political, and media M.O.

Parler is the gun, the person making the threat is the shooter.

Sorry for such a self-admitted & un-educated reply ... but I'd feel more comfortable expressing my thoughts/ beliefs at RDP than on any other platform currently available . . . i will be deleting all my other other accounts begining tomorrow.

Section 230 deals with this.

Ironic that while Parler can't be sued they can be effectively shut down.

The more any group of people feel they can't be heard the more forceful methods they will use to be heard. I don't think impeaching trump, banning his social media, and now banning a widely viewed conservative avenue of speech will help conservatives feel they are being heard.

Personally I think Biden should take a play out of Gerald Ford's playbook and pardon Trump. I think it would emphasize what's happened in the past is behind us and we need to focus on going forward. Won't happen though.

P.S. In no way am I condoning discussions of violence against AWS.

The tech companies seem to have more power than the Federal Government. Pretty sure if the gov. shut down Parlor they could be sued. Not so sure Apple or Amazon can be sued because they are private companies. I don't know it just doesn't seem right. It is hard to believe that these giant tech companies have so much power. They need to be broken up. imo Crazy times we are living in.

I don't think he has done anything to deserve to be impeached myself.

More of a symbolic gesture.
I agree 100%. Telling people to walk down to the Capitol Building to let your voices be heard is a far cry from the Shit Show that Antifa activists mixed in with a few dozen redneck assholes put on last Wednesday. Trump never once called for violence. This is not an Impeachable act in my book.

I encourage all of you to watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix. It's an eye opener for those of you that don't follow Social Media and an update on the advancements for those that do. The addiction and control over our lives has created an environment that is no place for our younger generation. This is a must watch and be sure to watch it till the end. Watch it and let us know what you think ....
