Toon the motorhome over to wired for sound today to plan our assault on this.. nothing crazy over the top, but want it to look like a million bucks going in the campground, and be able to listen to music at least while I’m driving..

This is the motorhome as I bought it. Just giving a baseline so we know what we are starting with.

To date I haven’t changed or fixed or replaced anything except the picture fell off the bathroom wall. So I installed some better Velcro on two sides and stapled the existing Velcro and new Velcro to the wall. Put new Velcro on the painting and reinstalled. It isn’t ever coming off unless I want it too now.

*note I did replace that Velcro on the right side just don’t have a pic

So went over the initial plans for LED under glow lighting under the RV, as well as led strip under the awning.. as well as some mood lighting inside and a basic stereo so I can at least here music driving down the road.

pics for inspiration.

I was going to do LED’s (rgb)under the slides but I don’t like the way it changes the side color of theRV so I am thinking white directional lighs under there so you can see where you are walking around the rv at night?

We still have to toss some ideas but we got a general idea of where we are going. Daniel is a bad ass down there so I’m sure he will come up with shit I haven’t even thought of and when I pick it up I’ll be impressed.. that’s generally the way it has worked in the past.

Now it’s time to get the RV detailed and ceramic coated to protect the paint. It will Goto detail specialties 928-706-5339 on Tuesday for that..

upon inspection Chris said if we want it to be double throw down we should remove the clear bra stuff on the front so he can buff all that paint as well. He made mention that clear bra has come a LONG WAYS.. And they now have “self healing” clear bra.. wtf?

so clear bra coming off, abd for that we Goto Neil.. lol.

So we head over to Clean Concepts where Neil does wraps, window tint, and clear bra (as well as other things) but those are the main things..

One of the head lights also looks “hazed” as it turns out it is the clear bra that fogged up(on headlights as well) so he’s gonna pull that off and replace as well.

so now Neil’s guys are going to CAREFULLY remove the old clear bra so that Chris detail
And then buff all of the paint.
Once buffed the black looks like you are staring into the abyss. Zero lines in it at all out in the sun.. it’s pretty bad ass.

not not sure if they ceramic coat under where the clear bra goes or not?

Looking good RD!

a few things I did on our old coach -

tap into propane tank with valve and coupler so you can grill without bringing extra propane bottles Just use a hose from the big tank
constant 12v off the back for a camp locator light on top of a flag pole
set up outside shower, easy to shower in swim trunks and keeps gray water tank from filling up
added window awnings to keep the sun off the windows, you feel the heat on your back thru the windows

I added a 30 amp plug on the trailer hitch to plug in the trailer power and run the lights and AC unit.

so you are running trailer lights / AC off RV gen when plugged into that 30

In the desert the clear bra is not bad. Here in Florida once surface is impacted it starts to mildew. I’ve been having my morning coffee and peeling my clear bra off. Couple hours each morning. It sucks doing it myself

To be sure this is not to be funny but that is an impressive ladder for roof access. Is there a need to get up there? Just to service the AC or storage?

Washing the roof, inspection of caulking or sealant around thru holes like skylights and such. If you camp in a wooded area clearing leaves and branches. So ya I’m up on mine fairly regularly

All motor homes have them.. or most do. I never plan on going up there.. I’d go from crippled to dead lol

Clear bra is off, and the motorhome has been buffed and ceramic coated now! Came out amazing!

I’ll get some better pics today. :). Really impressed with Detail Specialties and their work!

So in an interesting twist.. the door handle has become unhooked from the mechanism inside the door.. So we are effectively locked out of the motorhome!

First class RV repair in Lake Havasu is on it and they are going to break in to and replace the door latch..

First class rv also came down and fixed all of the drawer locks. There were several that were broken and the drawers would just open while driving. :)

The new clear bra is “self healing” all you have to do is pour hot water on it and it goes back to new

The fucking frustration is real.. this tv worked perfectly fine with the antenna until the kids did something inside..

I have spent hours trying to figure out what selector switches inside need to be for this fucking thing to work.. I’m about ready to give up.

I love the outside TV!

Dave doesn't seem to be a fan as of right now.... to be fair I can't figure out my cable in my RV either. There are like 6 different connection points and none of them seem to work. I gave up trying....

See if there's a small power switch on the antenna.

I just use Amazon Fire Sticks for each TV in mine, and fire up the hotspot on my phone for the weekend.

Neil took the motorhome to go do the clear bra on the front.. (holy shit balls is that expensive!!).
I would show you the selector switches.. it’s a box that has five switches in three banks, each bank for each tv..

Here is a question for the motorhome gods.. can you rub more than one tv off the antenna at a time? If not then I found my answer..

I have been taking all three banks and selecting each selector switch to the same and then trying to run the auto scan.. if only one tv can be on the antenna at a time then I figured out my problem.

those jenson tvs suck.

I’m aware.. one thing at a time. I am spending way too much $$ on this right now.

Thousand bucks for the new head unit, that clear bra is like 4K for the bad ass shit.. kinda makes ya wonder at what point do you just repaint the coach every now and again

RV and cheap fix is never in the same sentence

About your antenna question - the answer is yes if setup that way. Based on your note above, sounds like your setup does not allow that. Easy fix, just money

Or just be content with the way it is and accept the fact that things that actually get used and enjoyed don't have to look like brand new and the only person that really cares is you. Nice coach BTW.

I have a Denon 7.1 system in the RV, it runs off and inverter. That is what you really needed. I have full surround sound that way.

I wish I had 1/2 the logic and electrical skills of the guy in the above video. Anyone who has an RV knows you can never use the following words when talking about it - easy, inexpensive, logical, simple. Doesn’t matter if you spent $10,000 or $1,000,000.

This coach has six solar panels, and four battle born lithium ion batteries.. the previous owner put like 20k into it. We don’t need to run the generator, the coach is self sustained

Toon it back down to wired for sound on Friday. Stopped by Monday to check out the progress.

most people do LED strips underneath the motorhome for the under glow. What they don’t tell you is being under there dealing with dirt / water etc (providing you actually use it) they won’t last but a few years..

We decided to run Offroad rock lights under the motorhome so they would be good for the life of the coach.

This was determining where to place them to get the maximum effect without getting a “spotted look”

LED strip is installed for the awning, waiting on a controller so it can do rgb-w. The controllers they had only did rgb.

if ya don’t know what that means rgb stands for red green blue, with that you can make all the colors in the rainbow. The “w” stands for white.. the ones we did both under and over Allan make white in case you have to work on something or need more light etc.

The motorhome has a bright rigid led on the side for light but I think the strip will be nice for ambiance and then white will offer decent light outside of the purview of the rigid.

The new “cool guy” deal on the new motorhome is the “floating” oversized head units. My head unit was being intermittent which makes backing up interesting when the head unit decided it doesn’t want to work that moment. Lol

So out with the old and in with the new! You can see the original one in the earlier posts.. This thing is a monster! Looking forward to seeing how it works.

Looking good @RiverDave
what awning light kit did you go with?

Just told wired for sound to deal with it. I’m not sure which one they picked. It is rgb-w as well as I plan on using it as an outside light when we are cooking etc as well.
