Black Friday posts new single day record for gun checks at more than 200,000

In all, the FBI fielded 203,086 requests on Black Friday, up from the previous single-day highs of 185,713 last year and 185,345 in 2015. The two previous records also were recorded on Black Friday.

Gun checks, required for purchases at federally licensed firearm dealers, are not a measure of actual gun sales. The number of firearms sold Friday is likely higher because multiple firearms can be included in one transaction by a single buyer.

That's a good sign that gun sales have rebounded. They used to call Barry Obama the firearm salesman in chief because so many guns were bought when he was in the White House. Glad gun sales are back up

People who think that banning guns is the answer live in la la land for sure.

Banning them only makes the law abiding citizens who own these weapons criminals. Criminals will still be criminals.

I know if I owned any guns, i wouldn't turn them in if they were banned.

Good thing I am afraid of them.

Would be interesting of how many sales were just in CA.

The state of California is "taking a knee" on Black Friday LEGAL gun sales .

I wonder when California will BAN the term "Black Friday", as if it just became racist in the last 30 minutes ?

Glad I live in Arizona, where we appreciate all the colors of the rainbow, but follow the US Constitution, while allowing everyone to have a voice at the table .

Why would you?

You know, a person can be killed with one, right? ;)

I see a fire extinguisher and a gun both as tools.

They're tools I keep handy. I hope I never need to use either.
But, I'd rather have one and never need to use it juxtaposed to needing one and not having one.
Does that make any sense?

I know your post is bait, but I can't resist, lol.
Hey, at least I don't have you on ignore anymore. :D

Polarize much? :p
So by your logic we should ban rental vans/trucks?

You're taking the bait. And for the record if they want to take my guns then yes they should ban rental trucks and vans as well, also alcohol as more people die from alcohol every year than from guns.

Master baiter: I take your bait...

You can ban guns but you can't ban killing. When stupid things are posted it confirms what is already known about the poster.

Gun control is a dismal failure in Canada. We still have a massive gun violence problem here in BC. For our population size, etc..... Its as bad as any American city is. Even Chicago. Despite gun control, I have a restricted firearms license here. A gun owner and a huge Magnum PI fan. I even bought a 1911 here in BC legally via a regular sporting goods store here. They still sell them today......... A tip for Canadians. Most police here have reserve police officer programs. Despite not carrying on duty, you still get the same treatment as regular police officers gun license wise.

Not to mention the Bastille Day massacre in France a couple years ago. ;)
